Back at home in Winnipeg today. Went to Watson Sk on Monday and loaded ammonium nitrate urea. Delivered that Tuesday morning in Elm Creek Mb then went to Brandon Mb and loaded Sulphur. Delivered that Tuesday afternoon in St Leon Mb. Thats all they have for this week at the moment so I came home. Might be more loads next week. Its not yet the busy time for this job so Im not too worried about having a short week.
I got some pics this week of a few things that may interest y'all. I took a pic of my BOL to show you the weights I am hauling. In the pic the Tare weight is how many kg the truck and trailer set weighs empty 21040kg (46,624 lbs). The Net weight is the amount of product (90235 lbs liquid ammonium nitrate) loaded into the trailers. The Gross KG is the total weight of the truck when loaded ,61970 kg (137,325 lbs).
I also took some pics of loading and unloading. The pic shows me waiting in line at the plant to load and the others are of the racks at the depot unloading. I took a pic of the valve outlets on the trailer as well. This trailer is used for just liquid fertilizers so its a simple 3 into 1 outlet on both trailers.
I took a pic of the dash display to show the fuel mileage this truck is capable of. I couldn't believe it (thats why I took a pic)! It was getting 10mpg at about 68 mph!! That was on flat ground though, in the hilly places its down to 4mpg! In the pic you can see the little fuel pump icon and next to it is 5.6 and below that is 10.1. The 5.6 is the overall average and the 10.1 is the current fuel usage as its driving. I wasn't going down hill or anything , just cruising on the flat land at 68mph!
I also included a few pics I took of the truck. Plus I included one of my fat head as well!

Kw9's rock!! Oh man! That's very impressive! I mean, the weight you are pulling :biggrin_2554: and the mpg!! WOW! IMHO you are a tough man. :yes2557: That's not an easy job, specially when winter comes... but you must be used to it and you can do it. :yes2557: More power to you! All the best and be careful out there.

Me... I passed this accident on the road today.... :biggrin_2557: Can't remember which road or which state I was....

The cab was totally destroyed and the roof totally smashed and crushed... :biggrin_2554: I don't know how many vehicles were involved... I saw only one truck and it seems it was carrying cattle as I saw the dead animals being transported on to another truck... they were all stiff... :biggrin_2554:

Now I am at a small Pilot only 1 mile from my delivery tomorrow. I walked one mile to the customer and one mile back to truck stop just to exercise and see how it looks. But now I am "dead" tired. Going to bed now. :biggrin_25518:

Hesperia CA at the PEElot. Had supper at the Outpost Cafe which was quite good. My load in Victorvile was cancelled after I got there... so I have some TONU pay coming to cover the fuel. Now normally I'd be hacked off over it, but not tonight. And it wasn't a dose of adult beverage that brought that about either.

If the shipper had insisted on holding me up, I'd be missing out on the next load which is a home run ... as in $$$. All's fouled up, as ends better!

Thanks Rocks. I have been helping this company occasionally with this type of work since 2010. Its only seasonal work that lasts for 6 to 8 weeks. The other guys are busy on the farms with the harvest season at the moment so I help out by doing the fertilizer loads for them that they cant cover with their regular drivers. It will last until christmas time and it does get to be a challenge in the winter! Mostly the problems in the winter are with the hoses freezing up in the cold. The plastic hoses crack if mis-handled , even trying to just connect to the outlets can be a pain if the hose has frozen the wrong way. Also it gets very cold in manitoba and saskatchewan so being outside loading and off-loading gets chilly!

I spent 1.5 hours at the Port of Houston. Was sent to SDV for a 12:30 cutoff at 11:40. Left SDV with that load at 1:20. Sat about 20 minutes at Air France because it was raining cats and dogs. Then went not TOO far for 460# going to a place I have only picked up from prior to this. Last I spent about 45 minutes at DGM and when I sent empty I got one for tomorrow and told to go home. I arrived about 18:10 did some stuff in the garage and ate and here I am.
