snow54: I am very sorry this had to happen to you; ain't NO love in Trucking my dear. Yes during orientation, the company staff will be all teeth and smiles, but remember this: "smiling faces tell lies"! As others have suggested, you have to learn to plan your moves much better than what you have laid out here; you owe that much to yourselves. In the trucking game you have to do them before they do you. It's like a jungle out here in this Industry! Always prepare and stay 3-4 moves ahead; usually you can sense when your relationship is beyond repair this is the moment you make chess moves and preparations. Wish you well!

I know a lot of guys who put everything in storage, got a P.O. Box and live out of their truck. Who can blame em? save 8k or more on apartment rent to never be there?

I was homeless when I started trucking - not even an apartment for the first year. My address was the company terminal. It is a little irritating, because you miss out on a lot of your mail, but it's not uncommon.

The guy I mentioned, living in the storage room was fired from his first trucking job with CR England when they discovered him living in the truck even though he was a good employee. When he came to work for the tanker company, his pay jumped to over $60K per year and his rent was only about $50.00 for the storage room. Most of the rest he put in savings.

You would have thought CRE would have given him a pay raise , living in the truck. Always available for loads, right? Wonder where the original poster went to on this one?

Yep, sounds like we haven't got the whole story, felony in 96' your husband informed them, they said, no problem, come on down, then something else happened, ether there are more convictions on his criminal activity report, or his driving license MVR is bad, failed drug screen, you mention "IT ONLY ASKED FOR FELONIES", To me? might suggest he has some misdemeanors, and/or bad MVR, Some recent misdemeanors can also keep you from being employed, I'll have to agree, Ozark isn't the reason you are not employed, your husband is the reason for not being employed, Sorry, I'm 45, and don't have a criminal record at all, and a clean MVR, This is what happen, you break the law! some companies what hire you, and this is how it should be, This is easy to do, Don't break any laws for around 5 years, Then try and apply for a company to drive for, And I don't care if they are misdemeanors, its still criminal activity

Can you provide evidence of this? or just taking his word on it? how long ago was this? When I first went over the road back in the 90's, I went to England and met a driver that was going to their school, he had just got his license, and it had England's address on his license, He told me he doesn't have a place of residents so they where letting him use their address, cant say about today, but they use to have a place up front for drivers to receive mail, Any England drivers out there?, Do they still have a place for drivers to get mail?

A bit over the top don't you think? There was nothing political in his post, there is not communist propaganda in every post. We all understand that this is America, where we have freedom, and TWIC cards and background checks for hazmat and e-logs and the two 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. rest periods and mandatory 30 minute breaks and cpap reporting. But requiring an address would be so communist and subversive, I agree. So calm down comrade.

transam is really not the bottom feeder they are made out to be
too many people that cant figure anything out blame everyone but themselves for their problems
that said transam could be much better
they don't force you to lease
or make sure your smart enough to best use your hours
    but it is all possible
people claim to run out of hours and cant run all the time
but I have been out 93 days without a reset and only one week was below 2800 miles

when I move on a job will already be in place
