The South Texas black hole ( even though I live there) is why I have my personal vehicle in GP. I learned quick that if I went home after delivering in that area it would be two to three days before I got back to GP for an outbound once I started rolling from the house.

Don't all you folks put that bad mojo on me as I am in San Antonio for an early morning delivery and didn't hear anything from BH today:) Turned 1300+ miles in the last two days so hope to keep that up tomorrow.

Well, it looks like my egr cooler took a dump right before I got to the yard for a PM. I'll be at GP today and tomorrow waiting for my home time load to be ready and to move into a loaner truck. If anyone gets through the yard, I'll probably have my butt planted in the break room easy chairs.

SS, I had to learn early on to not take outbound loads to south TX. If that's all they offer me, I pass and wait for something better. It may mean I wait in GP for a few more hours, but it beats waiting in south TX for a few days. Now, I don't ever go down there unless Backhaul sends me there. There IS a learning curve here to optimize your miles. I have been here for a year and a half and I still am learning routes and strategies for getting the most from my time away from home. As a new driver here, it takes a bit of time to get into a decent truck. I drove an old freight shaker for the first six months here before I got into the cream puff I have now.

If truck 3267 is available that would be a good loaner truck. Everything works well with it when I turned it in a couple of weeks ago.

I was trying to remember which one you had when Tony handed me the loaner list...since I don't have my smartphone yet, I couldn't look back on here to check. I ended up with 3168 which is the truck that was almost totaled while a mechanic was returning it to the line and was hit by a speeding looney toon who ran the stop sign and haulin butt trying not to be late...again. Seems to be a decent truck so far. It pulls decent and has round tires instead of the square ones on my Prostar. Honestly, I almost feel at home in it given all the years I spent in a Freightliner...it's loud and rattles...like a Freightliner should. Since my truck has a bunch of stuff to fix, I may be in it a while...if it is more dependable than my Prostar, I may keep it until it's falling apart or is retired. It doesn't pull quite as good as my Cummins did, but no Detroit I drove ever did. At least half of the front is dark red, and the a/c will freeze you out.

It was good to meet you face to face and put a face to the name. I may start running more distant locations. I was trying to get 3 or 4 regular checks under my belt before I ran loads that may end up having to carry over into the following week before I get paperwork turned in...but that didn't work out the way I planned. Still kicking myself for not taking that Pol-Tex transfer...but when outbound calls me as I'm pulling on the scale...it got me flustered a bit...oh well, live -n- learn. Tony snagged me to watch the rest of the followup videos, so even though I didn't knock 'em dead on miles the last 10 days, I got 3 hours of hourly pay for an hour and a half of watching TV. Kinda helps tame the savage beast a bit. See ya' in the funny papers
