Home, but only until tomorrow morning, when I deliver 20 miles away at 0900. Then back home until Friday morning.

You just described a major pet peeve of mine, last driver not taking the time to do what is right. Did the driver at least write up the bad tires on the DVIR report? I am not sure how it works with OTR and drivers always changing trailers but isn't there a name of who dropped that trailer? Also, your paid by the mile so when you take and get things fixed so you can roll, are you compensated?

AHA! I decided to have tire replaced at the truck stop where I am taking my 34 reset. :biggrin_25525: Company doesn't pay drivers to have things fixed... :biggrin_25512: They do pay us however for layover if we are not rolling due to repairs, etc. Actually, my dsp went to me to say they will pay me layover for the day I was at terminal waiting for truck repairs.... I thought that was cool... :yes2557:

Oh yes.... and I told Mr. Maintenance that whoever dropped this trailer with bad tires at the terminal should have informed co. about it.... Well, I know I did my part.:yes2557:

I called Peoplenet today to ask a few questions and to complain about how sluggish this thing is.... among other things... They agreed with me.... well, what else can they say? They said there may be a new upgrade coming before the end of the year and they plan on addressing this issue of speed... I hope so...

Oh... this is a docking area... I was there last week or so.... Some of these customers on these broker loads have difficult docking areas.... :biggrin_2552:

So, the yard jockey with attitude at my shipper this morning decided that he needed my empty stashed on a certain pad in tight next to the next trailer in line. It's very early this morning, like 0400. Already backing that way to place it on the driveway per the shipping clerk, but OK. Backed all the way down to check out the spot, and there's a really big ventilator cap (looks like an aluminum sailors cap) spotted by a construction crew at the end of the next spot past the one I'm going to back into. OK.

So start back... there's about 20' between the trailers and the kerb to work with and 4 total open spots... so no problem. Get it moving back into the big open area- all moves are very slow because my Cascadia can't turn worth anything, and I get out to take a look. No problem. A couple of pull-ups to get the back end around- and another look-see, and I start to jackknife the trailer to get it going towards the back of my slot. Pop over to the passenger side each time to spot the ventilator cap... now I'm angling toward my neighbor trailer, away from the ventilator cap, and everything is going good.

About this time, yard jockey with attitude stops what he's been busily doing to watch with a trailer in tow. He can get around me easily, but stops to watch. He's been really slamming the trailers into and out of spots, and this is weird. He just stops to watch. So... I get the trailer to the back of my slot... still at a bit of an angle, and I decide to drop it at this point. Not happy yet, I'll just unhook, straighten the tractor and finish the spot. So I go to the back of the trailer (first time back there) to check the distance to the bollard poles at the back of the space, and make sure I've retrieved my locks. Surprise! "Someone" has nailed the ventilator cap... real hard! A complete imprint of a dot bumper, crushed aluminum, and a big square hole in it from the dot bumper end cap... and creases from the bollard poles all on the back of the cap. The front facing out into the parking spot is pristine. No wonder this guy wants me to spot that trailer... and he's watching like a hawk. He nailed that thing good.

I got words for this guy that the bad word filter would have a fit over.

Finished spotting the trailer... I should have taken pictures.
