Im ending my otr career in june and taking over and expanding a local business I purchased. Ive spent hours on the phone getting conflicting info from fl highway patrol.

Heres the scenario. I'm a one man operation. Doing pressure washing/soft wash. Chevy 2500 truck triple axle 8x16 enclosed trailer
    Following on board

    1 3000 watt generator
    1 pressure washer
    30 gallons fuel

    300 gallons of chlorine
    500 gallons of water

That would be a commercial vehicle

A cargo van for an HVAC company is technically a commercial vehicle yet they don't need DOT numbers.

    maybe,
    1. if you transport passengers or haul cargo across state lines then yes,
    2. If you transport hazardous materials that require a safety permit, you must also register for a number.
    3. [h=2]State Requirements[/h]

I have the same setup, bar the chlorine.
Would chlorine be class 8 hazmat, and require placards?

You need a tanker and hazmat endorsment. I was thinking a ton truck and up had to have dot numbers. But the weight of your trailer is going to exceed 10,000 pounds with 800 gallons of liquid.

GVW over 26,000, pulling trainer over 10,000, read the rules. Your local DMV will have them for you.
