Awww doesn't it just make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside to know you are wanted.... kind of like heartburn lol. When I got home this last time I had a Happy Holiday's card from Crete asking if I was interested in coming back and to give them a call.I must say the card made a nice fire starter to light the grill.
Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

I have been following this thread since the start and have a pretty good idea of what to expect at Poly.
I have 1 major concern that has not been touched on regarding the per diem pay.
The questions I have are:
1) perdiem is .23 per mile (correct)?
2) how is the per diem pay actually calculated..x miles of trip x.23 or is there a different calculation Poly does
3) how is the per diem shown on the w2 at years end (what box)
4 my biggest concern is overpayment of per diem to the driver on a per day basis as that is what the IRS rate is based on
I know JD had the same concerns before he started there but have not seen any actually numbers to the fact of what the per diem situation is like there (I believe he is taking an extra $100 a week out towards taxes)
I'm sure all know the negatives to taking per diem but I'm trying to weigh in on how the per diem calculates in at years end.. I don't care to make more $ if it just goes back to Uncle Sam at years end..penalties on overpayment is my concern.
If I get a better understanding of how Poly is calcualting per diem I can run some more numbers and see how they stack.
Thx in advance. -

In my humble opinion, everything you do here most likely has a liability risk assesment factor on a spreadsheet on someone's computer upstairs. Since this company is a privately owned corporation...it's the owners money at risk. Even if someone signs a liability waiver...there are ambulance chasing lawyers that will find some way to sue if a passenger were to be injured...it's just easier to say no to all non-employee passengers. I wish it wasn't that way because my wifey would love to ride with me once in a while...and it would be nice to have a secretary to help with all the paperwork...but...I knew the policy was that way when I applied, so I can't say I didn't know.
1 week and my truck is still on the road. 12 days to go for a new record.
