Jasper, AL. Had a pplan sent during the night and cancelled by the time that woke this morning. Ripley, Ashley to Arcadia, then received another one, said yes, and later that was cancelled. Then sent to Ecru with one going to Advance, NC. Was not in any rush to head up I-55 through MO. Now just worried that I am going to get stuck in NC. It is the weekend and my luck is not that great out of there.

Sitting at a "truck parking" pullout near Verdi, NV. Because of crappy luck I didn't leave the shipper til 3:10 this afternoon (arrived @ 7:50 am). Which put me in middle of Sacramento rush hour and on Donner after dark in the snow. Got to chain up for the first time since I started driving again. Took me 45 mins to chain and 20 mins to unchain. Unchaining would have gone faster had I not had to move the truck 3 times.

It's a good thing I have til 5:30 pm on Monday to deliver, may need it.

I think thats the store 1307 the guy showing me the ropes mentioned, he said that one and another target are the most difficult but they TRY to send the daycabs into those stores but sometimes the sleepers get stuck going too. I know I will have to hit it eventually but not looking forward to that one, im really really slow and horrible at blinding, at least in a day cab you can see a lot more and move easier.

Dispatch called me earlier when i was at the Porterville store dropping, asked if I would do a Turlok load that was live unload which we dont get many of, I said sure and then he changed his mind and told me to do a 100% return with Lathrop so I said ok. While dropping my sweep from Porterville he calls me again and says the Lathrop got canceled and now there is a drop for Turlok which is mine. Will see if it stays that way, he told me the trailer number and told me to go inspect it tonight before shutting down that way if anything is broke they can fix it tonight so i checked it then took off. Its ready for me to take at anytime and delivers by 22:00 so I will probably hook up around 10:30 and take off.

Its crazy how big the windows are on all these loads, just glad I dont have to go by them and can drop as early as I want.

Parked on a side street next to the DC, shut down with 9 minutes left so wasnt enough to go far.

been with the company a little less than a year, I was trying to get this dedicated account for months but was turned down in the past when I would have my DM ask but someone on the account was leaving so a spot opened and they started looking for people who lived within 40 miles, I live within 50 but they asked me too and I was the first person to respond. We are based out of Fontana terminal but our DM is at the DC office.

There is a DC in Woodland which is probably based out of Lathrop/Willows

Headed north on the I-55 in the early am from just outside St. Louis, headed to Joliet. Temperature down to 5ºF. Just before sunrise I notice in the headlights behind me I have a vapor trail or white smoke, not much, but just noticeable. Shortly after that I pull into the Pilot in Bloomington. As I come to a stop light steam is pouring out from under my hood and a strong coolant odor is filling the cab. I had to open the windows so I wasn't overcome by the smell. Parked quickly in a pull through and popped the hood while the engine was still running...

.... yep a coolant leak. Not a hose this time, but from what I understand is the heater pump on the passenger side. Almost all the coolant was gone, but engine temp was normal and no check engine lights came on!? Contacted On Road and now I'm waiting for an ETA to get my load repowered so they can then send a tow truck to take me about 35 miles to a dealership to get repairs. This will be my first time getting towed, and hopefully my last. If it comes down to a hotel for the night that won't be so bad, it's #### cold.

I had dropped in Logan UT Wed no mts available at the place. So I needed a new Glow Pin for the Espar heater anyway so decided to use the fate and destiny of being bobtail and low on hours to try to get this done during a 34. The shop I went to said they actually had some on order that might be coming in Fri or Mon. I kept checking with the guy but his shipment never arrived. Finally Fri a SLC planner calls me and asks if I want to grab a load and tcall it in SLC and she will set me up anywhere I want to go afterwards. I told her California, but there was no stack behind this load and the next preplan was for Denver lol. I don't do 70 west of Denver any more so turned it down. They refuse to remove the load and keep re-offering it. I think I am done answering the phone when Swift calls.

So I go back to the delivery place and grabbed the only mt they had, some DM at my terminal says trailer no good. Meanwhile I did not respond to the preplan because I wasn't sure about the trailer deal. Next thing I know, I am dispatched under this trailer even though I never accepted the load via macro9.Stopped back by the shop one last time before leaving town and the guy said the part was still not there. So I went back out and did one last walk around checking lights etc, and they guy comes running out to tell me he's got the part in just now yay.

So I jam down there and do drop/hook and loaded trailer has no upper front marker light at all. Send mac 55 so it is in the system and head to SLC for repairs and tcall. Now I start getting messages if I will be ontime for delivery. I'm thinking 'great, what have they roped me into now?'

Got it fixed and tcall went fine, received some messages overnight asking if I'm still going to be ontime lol, as far as I know the trailer is still sitting in SLC.

I may just go get a room for the weekend and let this weather thaw out.

Woke this morning to 8 inches of fresh snow on my truck. Cleaned it off, did a pretrip, and headed east on I-80. Road much much worse than when I stopped last night (not suprised) AND the "snow tires or chains required" sign is blinking when I pass it a mile up the road. Since I was in Nevada I ignored it and kept going to Sparks. Stopped at the Petro, fueled, bathroom break, then had a sit-down breakfast. Right now I'm catching up on my laundry (coat was trashed after chaining last night) and waiting for conditions to improve. I REFUSE to try to get across NV chained up at 20-30 MPH.

This load is turning out to be a nightmare. Had trailer problems (my fault...who looks for a hole in the roof of a BRAND NEW trailer). Swapping trailers cost me over 4 hours which put me right in the path of the storm. Since I couldn't seem to find a forcast of what the storm was doing I screwed up and headed east on I-80 instead of dropping down to I-40. Yes, I-40 would have been 200 miles further but I'd be moving now instead of sitting in Sparks doing laundry. Good thing it's a Command (broker) load, I'll call them Monday morning and get delivery rescheduled. THEN I'll do a Mac22 and tell Swift when I plan to get it there.
