I got to Up North finally. Since my next load wasn't suppose to be ready until tomorrow, and doesn't deliver until Wednesday in N. Vernon, I really didn't get in a huge hurry. I get to UPN and like normal for them on the weekend, my load is already done and waiting. So I drop and hook and rolled out of there. It's been below 0 all day...The truck did o.k. last night just on the Airtronic heater. It was as low as -9 and it stayed 65-70 in the truck. But if the temps go under -10 tonight, I'm gona be selfish and idle...she really worked hard to start...and my 5th wheel grease on the release linkage was so thick it wouldn't latch open without a fight...
Note to self...don't leave your 1 liter sodas in the tool boxes for more than 45 minutes in temps like this or else you'll have 1 liter size ice cubes....ok, got it.
Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

I guess it didn't help too much to get my load early(except I didn't have to spend the night in the worst of the deep freeze). I got to Roscoe, IL and parked. I was planning to go the long route down 39 to 74 to Indy then to 65...good thing. They closed I65 between Lafayette and Gary...closed I94...had much of I90 closed in the Chicagoland area and most of Indiana is still under a winter storm warning on Monday morning and the state has said don't go out if you don't absolutely have to. Listening to the local radio station (via IHeartradio) that US31 around Kokomo was closed because of snow drifts up to 4 feet deep. I hope they get the back roads between Columbus and N Vernon cleaned by Tuesday night...heavy load or not I'd rather not chance a shortcut if it's too bad.
