I was looking around on the net, and reading up on the new l.e.d headlights that are becoming available, for Cascadia,Pro star, etc. and according to manufacturer of the lights, along with you tube video/demonstration, it does seem that the new headlights do offer a distinct advantage in lighting versus the older halogen. not just in how long they last, but in reduced maintenance, and longer bulb life with more consistent output over a longer period of time. its also stated to have less eye strain on the drivers eye, because its a more sunlike color/temp versus halogen, therefore less eyestrain which translates to less eye fatigue. do you think when i drive for Prime that id be able to have a set on my truck?

I think you'd be ok. The lease department would tell you for sure.

Keep in mind those LED's don't give off the heat like halogens do. They're nice with the light they give off depending on the brand you buy, but I have heard numerous complaints about them icing up and not being able to see a #### thing when that happens. Its a safety issue in the winter I'm doubting prime would let you do something like that. And HID's are so expensive I wouldn't think about running HID's on a company truck.

Its just like trailer lights if you've ever noticed that them boys with in cans you can always see, us guys with led lights end up stopping every 200 miles to clean our tail lights so we can be seen.

Joseph He doesn't realize that those lights will be about double a weeks wages, plus he will be with P.lease R.emember I.t I.s M.y E.quipment and they don't pay much and with the lease deal they expect you to run hard @ 62 and then be able to buy those bulbs? MMM :biggrin_25513:

How anal would you be if someone tried to "modify" your $100k vehicle?

Joseph no offense and I don't know but aren't you referring to an HID system instead of an LED system? Freightliners ma be different but an HID system for my Pete is $1000 for the low beams, I can put LED low and high beams in it for about $800. You may be very well right and I may be wrong. I probably am won't be the first time right? Lmao.

I drove for Prime and made modifications to my truck. Success Leasing told me that it was up to me what modifications I wanted to make. BTW the lease trucks are governed at 65 not 62. Also, I was very pleased with the money I made as a lease driver and made enough money to pay cash for my own truck and get my own authority. As far as running hard? I decided how hard I wanted to run, not Prime :)
