Lol. I tried to make it work with Knight, it just didn't happen. $600 per week, gone 3 weeks at a time. Nahh.

Yea I sure didn't starve BUT I don't have a family to feed or provide HVAC too when I'm not home. Under those circumstances it would have been tight. Of course these companies LOVE people who live in the truck for obvious reasons.

The lastest changed to the maintenance has killed off the bonus money completely. Every 7500 miles you have to take the truck into a shop for service. BUT it can only be YOUR HOME(town) SHOP. No more getting things done on the road. And since getting your truck into the shop is tied to your bonus money....

So you can only get your trucks serviced at your home shop, no other Knight shop can service your truck. Best not drive too far away from home! And that "real" hard charger doing 3600 miles a week will have the truck into the shop every other week now.

The 10,000 mile service performed at any terminal must not have been good enough. Cost about two days every month depending on what terminal you happened to be at. Every 7500 at your home terminal...SMDH! A driver requests to go home after two or three weeks out and it takes a week to get home. Not to mention the stupid favors they think you owe them for allowing you to go home. Knight must have had a large number of drivers hit the six month mark while earning their bonuses. This new policy should take care of two problems.

So If a Knight driver has a problem with their truck, they now have to wait until they get back to their home domicile to get it fixed/serviced? Talk about complete independence from each other. Maybe they should call it something else. IE - Knight Transportation of Phoenix, AZ, Knight Transportation of El Paso, TX.....etc. Then they will have no choice to do as for mentioned.

It seems silly to do it this way but I guess Kansas City got tired of being charged by Katy for servicing their trucks and placing them over budget?

Honestly if this all true, I am glad that I not part of it and OTR with them.
