Hospice did a outstanding job taking care of him, I hope there is a special place in Heaven for people who do what they do...if there isn't, there should be...but they didn't warn us that this happens with some terminal cancer patients...a sudden surge of energy as if they're getting strong enough to take on chemo...then a rapid downhill. Had I known, I would have been on my way home from TX about now.

I also just found out a round trip airplane ticket is almost the same price from D/FW to Jacksonville as from Minn/St Paul.

Sorry to hear about your FIL. My pap was the same way. He had his chemo and then seemed better than ever! He was doing great, but then he took a real quick turn for the worse. :-( Sadly, he passed away. Hopefully things turn back around for your FIL and that you are able to get back home soon!

Bah. Unfortunately figured out that our International's don't have 300 gallon fuel capacity like the old Volvo and the FL's. Luckily I was only 1/8 of a mile from a gas station so after 8 quarter mile round trips with a 2 gallon can I managed to get enough in the old girl to get back to the yard:) Lesson learned for the day. I put in 237 gallons at the yard and I figured I had about 3 gallons left of what I bought so roughly 240 gallons to work with before tapping out.

Oh well made it to Childress, TX tonight and sitting in the WM parking lot about to go restock the old fridge. Picking up free internet here as well for the win. Should be doing my reset at Johnson's Corner on Sunday if anyone is in the area and wants to drop by for some grilling as I figure I will fire the old coals up 2-3 times while there.

Calculated the extra pay from our drop/pick ups and the 600.00 they give us for phone service. The extra came out to be $0.043 per mile which is a little higher than I figured it would be so no too shabby.

I agree. The folks who took care of my dad when he was in hospice were some of the nicest, most caring people I've ever met. There are people you meet in life that you'll never forget, and while I don't remember their names, I will remember their kindness and compassion to the day of my own passing.

I wish you and your family the best during this difficult time, SSB.

What is it with all this freekin ice fog? I woke up to fog, spent all but 50-75 miles driving in and out of it. Managed to get to Mountain Home again with my 2 stop Irving/GP Roadrunner load. Then hopefully a load home for a week to be with my grieving family.

RIP Ray...father and friend...your suffering is over, we'll see you on the other side...

What good fortune I've had this trip (so far). Got to leave Henderson a day early, so I layedover only one day instead of two. Was able to deliver early today in Blaine which allowed me to get to Longview,WA & pickup my next load today instead of tomorrow. I'll be delivering in Mayfield,PA on Friday afternoon. I expect to reload in Watkins Glenn going back to DFW.

Truck is over due for PM so the shop scheduled me to stop at the SPEEDCO in Council Bluffs.

Plus the weather, other than the fog SS mentioned, has been very favorable in the NW.

Speaking of PM's, I noticed the other day my little cling-on sticker didn't like staying stuck on the -15 degree window and fell off. I had to dig out the inspection form and see when the last "b" inspection was done. That's bad when it's too cold for static cling. I am soooooo looking forward to summer this year

I saw a wrecker hooking up to a Poly truck today in San Antonio, he was right by 3 truck dealers, not sure if International was nearby
