    I don't know how we missed this one? It happened Dec 8, 2013.

    A trucker was shot and killed by store security at the new Loves in Dayton, OH.

    Very true. Hard to believe we missed this one until now.
    I now see CDL Life also had an article on it, posted back on Dec 9th.

    That new Love's actually just had opened for business only 4 days prior to this incident.
    I'd be curious to see the trucker's actions, on store video, prior to the shooting.

    Not sure if the victim was an O/O that leased to IL based Universal Transport Services, or if he had any ownership of the company.
    It appears the company has 22 power units, according to FMCSA SMS data.

    Just watched the video. Truck stops are getting awful. Ripping off customers with fake fuel rebates and now this.

    There may have been a language barrier? Really? If you don't speak plane English then you will be shot and killed? I don't get it? They said the victim was acting erratically? not no more!

    Did a quick search of the public records in Montgomery County, OH. No inmates by the name of Joshua Karp (Alleged Shooter) as well as no charges filed as of today, which means it could be under investigation currently.

    I don't understand why Loves would have armed security guards in the first place...

    these guys scare me... most of them are not off duty police but under trained ..minimum wage flunkies...

    I assure you that loves will pay through the nose for.this one...

    the use of deadly force in ohio is restricted to protecting your own life or the life of another.. but you must be able to prove your life was in danger.. hard to prove with an unarmed man..

    the fear of getting your butt kicked does not justify deadly force...

    Smh... da faq love's.. I always feel security guards feel they're higher than cops if not as such, and then with carrying a gun under permit they're even worst
