I exceeded the average production at Knight and Crete because I possess the determination to excel and they both recognized that commitment and fed the monster. I crystal clearly communicated how I run in advance of accepting a position to the VP of Safety here at Heyl. While still employed with Crete. I am still happily married to my sweetheart since 1980. Same residence since 1987. I am quite reliable if and when someone steps up and matches my commitment. I hope this turns around pretty quick. Finding the right fit is proving to be quite the challenge.

2 weeks low man on the totem pole and expects to get the premium runs... communicates with the safety director, but not the dispatchers....

you have shown HEYL no commitment... after 1 week you were talking about going back to crete.

and you changed freight markets, and have a new learning curve to overcome...

    Xls,

Tleaheart is right. I too am encountering the same situation as you. I worked doing the same job for three years and always got the good shifts. Now im in a different type of business where I have to prove myself again. The longer we prove to our bosses that we can handle it, the better off we'll be in the long run. Like you, I thought about quitting but then again what does that do??? If you wanted to try reefer why didnt you try Shaffer first???

I am only speaking from experience(s). Hit twice in truck stops while legally parked(and in a safe location...I thought) and sleeping...Crete did their best to find fault. Sinkhole opens up on a customers street....Crete's 1st question wasn't "were you or anyone else hurt" it was "what were you doing there". Of course being the smart arce I am...my only reply was "oh, I don't know...customers address, customers location....I might have been DELIVERING the customers product they ordered". Hurt on the company property, stepping off the company truck and they did everything the could to find fault...and still haven'r even paid short term disability for my 2 mos off going thru rehab...which they didn't pay for either.

I am a nice guy to everyone in the world...at first...but screw me over...I go back to my Yankee roots and remember my High School education...the place where I got my PhD in S.O.B. and my body isn't the only thing I have in common with an elephant...I have a memory of one too.

Yep. Getting loaded in Auburndale, Fl with a nice time efficient load headed to Hopkins, Mn for Saturday morning delivery. Once MT in Acadia, Fl, I headed up to Zephyrhills terminal and got a new starter and drive tire. So far it has been very quick same day repairs at both shops I have been to. Next/first home time truck is probably going into Freightliner.

The Fickle Finger of Fate just poked me in the eye again. 95% loaded and the remaining 5% is not even on site. Got to be brought over from another location. Will not ship without it.

After the 7 hrs to get loaded, I didn't make it very far. Got a few miles north of Polk City into the night darkness of the Green Swamp and had a full grown solid Black Cow cross my path on rain slick roads. Caught it square with my right front. Broke it's r/r leg/hip. Deputies came out and put it down. Fortunately the truck was drivable so I am back at the Zephyrhills yard. Sure glad I took it out and not a car.
