To make straps reach futher, use your chains on one side from one tie down to another about 4 feet away creating a big U-shape, hookiing your strap to it in the middle. Hope I explained that correctly. Basically using a chain to move your strap hook up couple of feet.
Yes you can buy longer straps at the company store in Lousiville but not sure you can get them at truckstops. But most of us don't carry longer ones, we just improvise.

I've not seen any Milatary loads requiring wood floors.
That salesman just trying to push the wood floor. Personally I wouldn't buy a wood floor because of the extra weight.

Anyone running the scan gauges in their truck?. I hear they are great for telling you the fuel mileage , boost and other things. I am really wanting these seeing as I dont have that computer in my truck. is it as good and accurate as I hear?. Where can I get them and for how much? Lastly, will they be available at the truck show?

Thanks all and be careful out here.

It's as accurate as your ECM, you can get them at letstruck dot com, most likely available atshow. What kinda truck do you have?

While Im a LS flat driver i view this thread daily(I have no desire to drive for mercer) I just enjoy the cordial attitude of most and info on this thread.

I ordered scan gauge this morning, I see there are 1 or 2 trucks that it recommends not using the gauge on……minus that its universal for all trucks? It didn't ask me my truck type or ask did I have a 6 or 9 hole pin……..I purchased this truck about 9 months ago and I can't stand not knowing my MPG!!

I got one about 6 months ago and love it. It pretty much reads everything your ECM is reading and will display any 4 of the guages at a time. Including total fuel cost, cost per mile, oil pressure, water temp and more.
Mine resets everytime I shut the truck off or unplug it. It will unplug easliy so I routed my cord up the side of the dash and it doesn't come unpluged.
It will also allow you to change the color of the display and will read any trouble codes.

The scan guage started from camping world for coaches and I'd heard Kevin Rutherford got them to start producing for class 8 trucks.
The plug in is a double sided, one side for the 6 pin and the other is for the 9 pin.
