Its not any more dangerous then pulling a van IF you follow there safety instructions and do your job correctly. Any company with a shorter training program wont train you enough before handing you the keys.
They give you ample time to learn the 13 speed, but if your not getting it and not learning it, you wont be able to drive their old trucks. If your not showing improvement they will send you home. As for jumping on and off the trailer, they show you the safe way to get on and off. if you cant follow the physical trainers instruction, you will get hurt on the job.

I'm talking about tarping and chaining during the winter time. You can't train for a slip and fall.
im just saying that there more risk. Driving a rig is dangerous in it's self.
I'm not saying it's not a good company to work for I'm just saying if you can't do what they want. Examples pushing yourself up onto the trailer is one way to get them to send you home. Or by walking on the grass out in front of the building that's all. -
The no grass thing is simply a test. If you cant follow a simple rule about not walking on grass, how do they expect you to follow important safety rules when driving a 80k truck -
Ok you win. Safety is no accident. Accidents do happen. Stay safe

Check out other forums (and this one) regarding TMC. Make sure you receive a well balanced information. Check out the good, the bad and the ugly. TMC is not a company full of teddy bears and lollipop dreams. But then again what company is. In this instance I STRONGLY urge you to be totally informed. Keep in mind I am not taking a cheap shot at TMC. I am merely suggesting that you fully check out whoever you opt to go work for.
ramblingman Thanks this.
