CF is was Consolidated Freightways. That wil only happen at a non union company though that management will have to work like that. They did that at CWF and Overnite. I honestly have no issue with a supervisor working like that if short handed, but not to cut out overtime like at CWF.

Been a crazy few weeks for me heck I barely have enough time to eat!

 

CF is Corn Flakes. May that outfit rest in piece.

 

CF went out of business. The parent company made up all those Con-way regional companies which were non union. After a while they started diverting all the freight to the regionals and CF was in debt and ended up going under, then after a few years they made the regionals Con-Way freight. That's why you see a lot of old school guys HATE CWF. Cool35 was at CF when it happened he would be able to tell more. A old co-worker at YRC told me his stories at CF, was there for 23 years and was one of the top guys.

 

Part of it is what makes up Conway Freight now. But a lot of its equipment and terminals ended up all over the place bought by all sorts of people. It's not uncommon to drive through the middle of nowhere and see a dirt lot with a bunch of destroyed beat up trucks and trailers and find an old CF pup.

I wasn't old enough to notice back in their days, but apparently they were huge, their terminal in Orlando was so gigantic it had to be split into two parts and sold off to two different companies. This isn't a huge industrial city, we are not Chicago or Dallas either and specially back in the 80s or 90s when that terminal was built Orlando wasn't even half of what it is now. So CF must've been HUUUUGE back in its day.

 

CF was the biggest at its time. Then YRC became the biggest, now I'm not sure.

I see this old CF trailer all the time floating through my town

 

What is the company name on the tractor, if thereis one?

 

When I see it I'll take a look. I think it may be an owner operator. I've seen that trailer a few times just caught a pic yesterday
