No love on a load out west so picked up one going toward the homestead. Managed to get my truck PM'ed and some stuff fixed without too much heartache this time. Load was ready early so I rolled on out this afternoon. Looking forward to another extended break of 9 days or so. I think I could become very used to this 3 week out 9-11 days off schedule:icon_smile:

I also went by HR today to ask about the 401K stuff as there is just not a whole lot of info in that employee handbook. I had heard that if you put more than 6% that they would match the additional % by 50%. That is not the case. The max is 6% that they match 100%. As far as being vested for that matching portion it is on a year to year basis so if you decide to leave or retire January would be the time to do it so you don't lose the previous year's matching $$$. On the bad side I asked what the historical rate of return was and was told in the neighborhood of 2%. So the matching 6% is the good news but for additional retirement investments beyond that 6% I would definitely be looking at some other avenues.

Oh man, that's really low. Some people have no conscience whatsoever. Glad you caught him, JD.

Once again Poly comes through. On Friday, on the way back from the lumber yard with my 3rd trailer load of lumber, backhaul calls with my Monday backhaul load. Jacksonville, FL to Houston for a Wednesday delivery...

Man I will I be glad to be back on the road. I managed to get the floor framed and finished on my addition. Which doesn't sound like a lot, but with the exception of my wife helping me mix and pour 4 tons of Quickcrete...I have been doing this all by my lonesome, and I am making it sturdy enough to park a truck on it...thank God for an air powered framing nail gun...

Sounds like you got a lot accomplished, Snackbar. I've noticed over the years that projects like that always seem to take a lot more time and effort than I think they will. It must feel good to have it all finished.

Perhaps I over estimated my ability...I had hoped to have walls up and celing joist hung...but all I got was foundation and floor...really makes me glad I am a truck driver...this manual labor isn't all it's cracked up to be.:biggrin_25526:. I wonder how my dad did it all those years, and w/o power tools. Many homes in the Goodyear park area of Akron, OH have the papa and grand-papa snackbar seal of approval on their construction, all done with hand saws, carpenter squares and regular hammers.

She's already there. My wife and I gave her our master bedroom...they're just waiting on me to get the storage rooms done so we can move her stuff over.

I've been following this thread and have read the whole thing. I found this website that provides the corporate list of requirements:
    PolyAmerica careers.

I bought a new motorcycle Saturday. Which resulted in the need to build a new ramp into the shed (the old one was mostly gone due to rot). It took about a day. My legs hurt. My back hurts. I wondered how guys in the old days could do it day after day. When I went back to Lowe's the second time to get more wood and nails (I knew there would a second trip to Lowe's even before I got started on the job) I took some measurements with me and had them cut the boards. For free. Sometimes I think about building houses or being a mechanic, but then I do it for a day and I change my mind.

had to switch trucks..... the mounts for the cab were destroyed. lucky I didn't fly off the frame. that clunking noise was not what I thought it was. I really liked that truck too. it would do 69 all day long and pulled strong. not on the dash o/d either. I am talking speed on my gps.

this other one is a little nicer 3356. but doesn't pull as strong and only does 67. air works but it is stuck on defrost. lol on my way to indy to drop and do a reset.
