The thought of never going back to my favorite places all over the US and getting paid for it is depressing.
Nevermind I decided to stay OTR

I know quite a few people that prefer OTR over local. From my opinion, it gets extremely boring running the same 400 mile round trip each night. I can compile a list right now on what delineators near what mile marker sign need to be replaced by DOT. Glad you enjoy OTR though.

At least he no longer BRAGS about all the $ he makes backing trucks in for other drivers like he did in the past .

I think this a good thread. It specifically discusses the attraction of OTR instead of doing a dedicated or local gig, the idea that when you get up in the morning you're going to be going through some beautiful scenery you haven't seen before, or maybe getting back to a favorite place you only get to see about once a year. OTR sure does get you in and out of places that tourists rarely consider visiting.
I got out of OTR and now run dedicated coast to coast, with some variety in destinations but always coming back to the LA basin. I'm missing my runs through eastern Idaho, Montana, and the Northwest. Nothing like waking up on a cold, clear night with a full moon surrounded by mountains and the sound of coyotes... parked miles and miles from the nearest civilization.Green-eyed Lady, skyviper73 and NewNashGuy Thank this. -
