Well that's nice. Makes sense to get rid of them as you can't buy parts for them anymore,

ABF got the very last Sterling ever made. Forget the truck number, but the engine block is signed by all the employees that built it on the assembly line.

Thats kind of cool actually. How are the Mack's anyways? I still stand by Volvo with a cummins or Detroit or the older aerodynamic internationals. Guess I just got spoiled with the comfort ride from volvos. Freight liner cascadias I've driven a few times and don't like them too much. But at the same time I'm used to the old bumpy rough loud shaky ride my tractor gives me.

Not an LTL related rant, but I brewed my first beer last night. Red Ale. Should take about a good month to fully ferment before it is drinkable. If you don't hear from me by that point... I probably screwed something up and died from it.

Nice my dad has been saying he's making wine for the longest time. I don't drink it though. ,y friends brew their own beer which is normally good, they usually do a dark amber beer. The bar I work at part time has craft beers now and my boss sticks to the local guys.

I would like to brew my own but too busy to do it. Wanna get one of my cars done so I can start looking for a mud truck

It took me about four hours to make. It will take a good month before it is ready to drink. I agree... to me, anything you find locally will be ten times better than what the big brewers bring out. Oregon and Montana produce some of the best micro brews ever.

Well, since this thread has already been hijacked. . .
Years ago, I had a bud that got into brewing his own beer, on a fairly large scale. Not large enough to be selling it, but he was a part of a large beer drinking family. Anyway, he had been doing it for a couple of years or so, and things were going well. He was storing it in his basement.

He came home from work one evening to hear quite a racket going on in his basement. . .I don't know what he did wrong, but he screwed up a batch, and a whole bunch of bottles blew on him. :biggrin_2551:

Just luck no one was in the basement when they started going off. For some reason, I never heard much more about him brewing beer after that.:biggrin_25523: Don't know if they ever got the odor out of the house or not.

He may have added way too much sugar during the bottling phase. He is probably past the point where he needed to use a hydrometre. Right now I am keeping my beer inside a shower stall to one of the two bathrooms. Perfect temperature and completely dark. Believe me, fermenting beer reeks. I am waiting for summer time so I can store it inside my garage. Funny story though Don.

Big don this thread been hijacked LOOOOOONG ago.

I agree the locals are a lot better. My boss only drinks the craft beers now when he wants a drink after work. I will say they are good. Even the gf who's not a big beer drinker likes them. I will admit I do miss working there and the after work party hangout we sometimes all do. Oh well summer is coming up soon so it will all happen again
