Not true. Get trips scanned in by Friday noon, paid on the following Friday.
It's the regular settlement deductions which take a couple weeks to start coming out.
Some of the deductions are weekly and some are monthly. My previous carrier added all deductions up and took them out as an even number every week. Over here it appears they take the monthly deductions out in one shot the first week plus the weekly stuff every week so the first week of the month is heavy on deductions.

Sad thing is i love it here but getting someone on fone has been rough they have trippled the fleet size without growing the office staff i think i need to start booking my own backhauls that is my only gripe as i dh back to ks from detroit slightly flustered

Big dad, here's a tip get email address for those you always need to reach. Email them. You are sure to get an answer that way. Corp expects each terminal to handle it's drivers. This is why you can never reach anyone in corp or your terminal. They are worried about pick up and delivery and the otr driver are handled after. Good luck!

I see that as where the opportunity is with RR, running with brokers, doing the minimum of terminal loads only as necessary. -
When booking a back haul thru a outside broker, all your communication will be with the broker. RRTS knows nothing about the backhaul. So if you book a load with joe from TQL, then he is your contact man. Any questions concerns or delay's should be communitacte with JOE at TQL.. Only thing you need from RRTS when booking a backhaul is a manifest # and fuel advance if you are taking it from RRTS. This can be acquired from back haul services..
Now if you go thru the truckload dept, they will handle all the booking procedures and they will be the point of contact. They will also put your fuel advance on your card. Truckload is like a dispatch service for RRTS. They will handle all the calling and booking of the loads all you have to do is accept or deny the loads. They will handle the rest..
Good luck with running mostly backhaul freight, RRTS started to frown on me about it. So I decided to leave the company. I couldn't make any money sitting around waiting for terminal freight and I wasn't about to start doing that on a regular basis. It was good while it last, but everything good comes to an end. -
I am with one of the reefers rrts bought so we are a little dif our bh is booked by a dispatcher over the region found out to book our own freight out we have to coordinate with that dispatcher ahead of time find and negotiate the load then pass it off to said dispatcher to finalize the load credit approval etc........def something i will look into as i dont allways agree with the companies strategy especially in the midwest it,s been a very long productive month made that 800 mile dh look good compared to butting heads with our midwest dispatch

I was looking at coming to rrts in the dry division
so they expect you to run a bunch of terminal loads and less broker freight?
How is one to make any money on $1.40 a mile? after they take out plates and fuel and such.
atleast you would stand a good chance of making money doing the 2 terminal loads a month and then running broker loads right?Last edited: Apr 10, 2014

Actually the rates are a bit more than that. The rate sheet in my contract say between 1.35 and 1.90 before fuel surcharge. Just a heads up. They give you a rate sheet in orientation with set terminal rates going from certain areas to certain areas.

I have some questions if you dont mind answering. Im new to this forum or any trucking forum for that matter. I have been in communication with Bruenger for about a month. I spoke with Stubbs and he really couldnt give me a straight answer and Wendy connects me with someone who seems to never be in the office, so hopefully you can help. However, they are very knowledgeable and friendly when it comes to other areas which are hard to find, so thats why I feel my best option at this point is Bruenger.
The l/p program, is that a walk way lease?
Can I choose my own truck?
Do they take money out of your settlements for a maintenance account?
Do I have to put money down on the truck? Do they run credit?
How is home time?
What is the average percentage of the loads pay? i.e. $4000, $5000, $6000. I know this is a difficult one.
What can I expect from the mileage on the trucks that you choose or they put you in?
I appreciate any input or thoughts on this.
