I think, truth be known, a majority of us carry far more crap.....uh, important life-sustaining things in our truck than we need!
Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

A week or so ago, I found a long-lost bottle of aspirin. It expired in 2010.
I stopped searching at that that point for fear of what else I'd find!LilRobWayne Thanks this. -
I think one of the regulars on the old Crete thread had a sig line from an old saying that put using a loaner in perspective....when life gives you lemons.....etc...etc...etc.
Lilrob said it best....the potential to gross $70k a year trumps the few hassles like the 3 stooges in the shop and loaner trucks...like I use to try to explain to other drivers when they would mouth off about my 62 mph Crete truck when their triple digit truck would get them there faster...but at $0.38 cpm...they needed that speed because they had a lot more miles to run just to keep up with my $0.47 cpm. Same here, we may not have the fanciest or best equipped...but the majority of the other 18 wheel chromed out company show trucks don't gross more for their drivers...at least legally and with less b.s. from their company. And the home time statement is on the money as well. I am about at the same gross pay level as I was at Crete this time last year, but...I have already taken 75% of the total days of home time as I averaged for an entire year over there, and it's only May.....which means once I get my #### together at home and get back to my normal style of running...I will make a decent amount more here than my best year thereLast edited: May 17, 2014

and reason #101 why i dont like taking a loaner; as i sit here on the side of 71 in ohio with a super single on my trailer that came apart(my first super single blowout)with the rim sittin on the ground destroyed, not sure if any other damage, i cant see, flashlight is dead and charger is in other truck, it didnt blow out it mustv came apart slowly but i didnt hear it untill i noticed somthin goin under overpasses and then a nice landstar driver pulled up beside me and tried to get me on the cb but guess what, no cb or antennas in this truck, drivers pretty much play musical cbs withe loaners, couldv went to shop and got them as poly provides cbs but weve heard that tune, well honk if u go by me at xit 45 on 71 north in ohio waitn on fleetnet goodnite ps i actually got out the air hose and topped off the tires this morn, maybe theyre not used to havin so much air in them, i did think about sliding my trailer tandems as they were near the max but not over.

I thought it was .48 cpm -
I'm still going to give it a try if Meghan calls , anything is better than my weekly run to Tyson Meats and sitting 2 to 3 days while I shuffle a loaded trailer back and forth between them and the CAT scale , re arranging and scaling the load until they get it at 34000 or less on each axle . Week before last took 7 re scales before it came out legal , all that labor and time at zero pay . I'd love to say goodbye to LTL once and for all .

I had a guy show me his upcoming recap profile the other day in Iowa and there's no way he was going to make big miles. Not that he won't make a living , but he sure wasn't pulling in rock star miles on 6 to 8 hr daily recaps.
He even stated CCC requires .50 on duty for every d&h ,
Their micro managing even eats at a drivers time.
What keeps steer me away from CCC is the apparent inconsistent info im hearing.
Sumthin ain't rite ........ just sayinDinomite Thanks this.
