roflmao, another stepdeck guru, who thinks its a mysterious thing. I have done the stepdeck, rgn deal probably before you could clean your own behind. to many stepdeck guys are "in love" with the very idea of a stepdeck, that may be half your problem.

if you had read and really understand this thread and especially why do some fail at mercer thread, the secrets to doing well at mercer are contained and spelled out.

and I beg to differ on why you posted here, you began by ranting over canceled loads and how you deadheaded 800 miles and on and on.

I am however glad to see you are trying to modify your stance on things.

the point is, the very thing that I post on how to succeed here , is exactly what you have done in the time you have been here.

and I had jobs, before .

and as far as the company observer, you are one who stated there was one, I am simply trk number 12523, what yours.

I will guarantee ya this , what you get here is the same thing ya get in person.

now mix ya up some Kool-Aid.

your experience here is far different than mine, since coming here I paid off the trailer I got from mercer , made all my truck payments on time(made the last one aproil 15th) purchased and paid for my apu, and have truly done quite well while avg 2000 miles a week.

and like others just posted , ususally am booked 2 and 3 loads ahead.

the proof is in the pudding as they say, many many guys have posted in this very thread that they have followed the advice that myself, flightline and spyder and others quite frequently post , and are doing quite well.

the hardest part is changing and doing something different than you have in the past, but for many it works.

the reasons guys leave mercer is probably the same as many places , they are set in their ways and cant or wont adapt to the parameters of the system they are in. they want it their way or no way.

and heres is a simple explanation of why sometimes you show as no.1 and then are told you aren't number 1, it like when a guy like me goes home, I give an estimated time I will take a load, but while I am at home I check the load board , if I see a really cherry load, I commit to it and because of unload time I become number 1 and take it from you. you also have the opportunity to do the same thing when you are at home.

I also use my board position to my advantage , like if you are at number 10, that load that pays 2.70 a mile , no tarp and 5,000 pounds has snowball chance of getting to you even at number 10, however the 10,000 pound load with a 4 foot tarp paying 2.40 will be there for the taking simply because of the 4 foot tarp.

I get many loads booked ahead when I am 25 to 35 on the list simply because of 3 factors, tarp- haz-mat- or new jersey and up, while I try to get the real cherry loads, I also am commiting to other loads also, you do realize you can commit to more than one load til you get accepted on one do you not??

How do you commit to more than one load? When I accept a load and try to accept another one it says something along the lines of "truck ##### has committed to order ##### and can't accept another" or something like that...

and with avg 2,000 miles a week and 4 grand revenue isn't a hard life at all.
Just outta curiosity, skateboardman, what do you average on deadhead for something like this.

heres an example, I am doing a 1200 mile trip to ft smith .ar then going to Arkadelphia,ar , 140 mile dh to p/u for charlotte nc 821 miles loaded, revenue for those is a total of 3875.00

for 2,050 loaded and the 134 dh, to get to the ft smith I dh 25 miles , the load before than 12 miles, the load before that 141 miles.

after I drop in charlotte , I am going up near Raleigh to a horse show my daughter is doing, unless a really good load comes up and my wife says I got to take it,lol

My deadhead miles to tend to be little higher percentage like 20-25% of the loaded miles. That is because I tend to do shorter runs and might have some to do with my little truck.

So I'm curious about something. Why is it the coordinator seems to have loads not posted on the load board? Why aren't all loads posted? I feel that if i exclusively use the board i'll be missing out on freight.
