I almost made a major faux pas. I had planned on fueling at the Albert Lea Love's before making my final dash to Bloomington to deliver. When I consulted the Fuel Manefesto to verify that it was indeed our stop...I remembered that MN is one of the forbidden states we are not allowed to purchase fuel outside our facility...I need to find a stronger dose of Ginkgo Biloba....I know better than that. Thankfully I was only in Kansas when my brain fart passed and I came to my senses

When it came to FUEL SOLUTIONS at Crete; the one thing that would have drove me batty was driving out of route (not paid) to get fuel. Fortunately for me I was an O/O and could disregard the FS.

Reading this thread, especially the first 20 pages!, certainly would let others know that Poly is not perfect and has some silly policies (like nothing can be stowed on the back of the cab or cat-walk). We've never hide that fact.

The difference between Poly and Crete:
Poly gives the tools (information) to the drivers to use to make the decisions that will help them complete the loads they choose on the outbound side, and the loads they are assigned on the back haul without any input from management.
Crete tells you where to fuel, what route you must take, regardless of weather or traffic, on all loads which the driver has no choice to pull; and if you deviate from what the computer tells you (unless you get pre-approval; which is not always easy) you will have High Command giving you a courtesy call.

In my my past conversations with HR I was told numerous prospective drivers declined employment at Poly once the found out they would not be given a routing or fuel solution. While there are those of us who love having the freedom of making the decisions within the parameters set before us.

The point is there is no right or wrong with either system. It is up each individual to use the information provided on this thread to decide if Poly is where they want to work.

Sitting at the Pilot in Hagerstown. Deliver at Sam's in the morning. Anyone know if they are like most Walmart's and Sam's, that you can only be there an hour early?
