Kllm lease purchase

Idk about KLLM specifically but most company lease programs allow you to fuel and then take it out of your settlement at the end of the week... so no money needed for fuel upfront... would be helpful to have some funds available just for your reserve funds when you have that week you don't make any money due to slow freight, home time, break down, or whatever.

You'll receive a fuel card. . And hopefully kllm has a fuel network program that allows you to fuel at particular locations/stops and you receive a discount off the pump price. Also, is the fuel surcharge based off a national average or regional?

Regardless of you run % or mileage pay. . There will be a maintenance account. . Also insurance, bobtail, workers comp etc.

Do yourself a favor. . Stop, think, write down your questions. . And call a recruiter. Do your research. . Not all lease purchase programs are created equal.

I wish you luck. . Statistics say you will fail. . But I refuse to listen to statistics. . If you don't try, You will never succeed.

I'm 50/50.. I'm on my 4th lease purchase. . Failed twice. . Bad bad bad! ..I have 23 months And my second truck is paid for. . Good good good!

I would suggest that you wait a little longer. . My first two failures occurred the first two years of my driving career.

Take a whole box of salt of WALKING AWAY FROM A LEASE PURCHASE & NOT OWE ANYTHING.Theres fine print ur NOT seeing plus ur believing everything u hear from those guys.

 

Some people don't get it. If you start to fail and you will. You have paid for the companies truck for those months. You don't get that money back. So the company wins. They have some dummy pay for the truck, fuel, and maintenance, and you have nothing to show for it. These companies make a fortune off of bone heads. So if you want to be the next one to sign on the dotted lines. Go right ahead.

 

I hear a lot of older people say stuff like, just save and get a truck the traditional way instead of through a lease purchase. But it seems this method can still be better depending on who you lease through. Most company drivers make an average of say .39cpm. Driving 3000 miles would give them $1170. I know a few lease purchase drivers that is making more then that driving way less. A guy I spoke to today that works for a company im thinking about signing to made close to 1600 driving only 2200 miles and that's after his truck payment, fuel, fuel tax, insurance and other fees. Seems like it would be easier to save for a down payment to purchase a truck through regular financing by doing a lease purchase. That and it will also give you experience owning....

Rule number 1. Don't believe a word a truck driver will tell you when it comes to salary unless he has pictures.

Yes maybe he could of made 1600 dollars but how much of that was recruiting bonus for getting bone heads to sign up for the fleece purchase.

Yes you can more then a company driver but you take on all the risk that a company driver doesn't take on, and when you run real numbers. The numbers don't seem to make up for the risk you take.

If you are comfortable telling a company you want to rent your job, and in 3 years they will give you the truck for all the money you put into it. A company by the way who can fire you/ cancel your lease at anytime for any reason. And could even possibly starve you out the last few months b4 the truck is yours. If you want to trust a trucking company like that go right ahead buddy.


Really dude you have like a year experience. Do you really see yourself driving a truck in 4 years. Where are you going to park it? What is your family situation married/single? What's your bills like at home. Because remember your company takes the truck payments and all that off before you see a dime and if you didn't even have enough to cover that truck payment and expenses. You will have what you didn't pay Plus your current payments coming out of the next settlement. If you don't have many bills at home and you plan on living in the truck. Go right ahead. But if you think you are going to make 1600 bucks a week driving 2200 miles you are fooling yourself. Of course unless you feel comfortable recruiting people to your lease purchase company so they can be bent over till they say uncle.

What ever floats your boat dude, I would suggest you get a little more experience and read some of these lease purchase thread companies like JCT, ACT, trans, am and Prime and see how much fun they are having.

Really man be honest and access your situation for even wanting to be an owner operator. Do you just want to so called be your own boss? Do you want to make more money? Are you in it for the long haul with all the crazy rules that the government might come up with that slows down your revenue? Have you as a company driver seen how long and expensive it is to get a truck fixed? Are you mechanically inclined to do your own minor work on your truck to save some money? Do you want to drive fast and allow all your profits to go out your exhaust pipe? Or Can you set the cruise on 60 and have swift and Prime blow your doors off and still be ok with it because you are getting 8mpg? Well just some thing to think about.

 

Op good luck on what ever you decide to do. My best advice stop seeing dollar signs man. A guy you know made $1600 a week, well he might have. The thing about people is when you talk to them when the money is good they say "oh ya im making a ton of money" and when you talk to them when its bad they complain. $1600 in one week doesnt tell us jack. We want to know about the year the whole year. Begin asking people what they grossed in 2013 and how many days of per deim they claimed on taxes(in other words how much they worked). One good week doesnt mean every week is good. Heres the part that sucks for all of us. $1600x 52weeks = $83,200. Say im a trucking company with 300 trucks and 600 trailers each is worth say 70k and each trailer say 30k i own 39 million in equipment. I have some serious skin in the game its probably taken my family generations to get to this point. Here you come off the street with no money up front to invest in my business and you think im going to share my profits with you. Lol. Maybe i can introduce you my sister while your at it lol. Yup some lease drivers can make more than company and many make less but you aint gettin $83,000 a year with out some skin up front in the game dude. It takes money to make money in this world and thats the part that sucks for all of us.

In my opinion, I look at it like a roof over my head. I stopped renting one the day I realised I'd need one for the rest of my life. And that was when I was 20.

I sure don't need to rent a job.

I agree. Leasing defiantly isn't the best idea. Seems better to make and save as much as possible as fast as possible to just out right buy your own truck. Or get a #### good company job.
