I'm trying to get an idea of how many miles you guys are running per week, and if you are recapping or resetting? I appreciate the info.

I left on on april 26th, still out as of june 4th, haven't done a 34 hour reset as of yet, running off recap, but then I am old and did it that way years ago before some yahoo invented the 34 hour restart that seems to cause so many problems for everyone

Since my truck is governed at 68, I have two options...

    1) Run full out for 8 hours (500 miles/day) & use recap hours, or
    2) Run full out for 10-11 hours (700 miles/day) and reset after 5 days.

Either way, I get 3500 miles/week, so I prefer to drive 8 hours & roll off my recap hours.

I'd say go with what you get the most (and most consistent) miles out of.

    Well, team, but . . .

7400-7600(max!), and then a reset once every 7.

Recapping this week due to a despatcher being, well - a despatcher!

I believe you will find that anyone who has done this awhile will be using the recap system. I only use the restart method when I want to take a day off and tour Mammoth Cave or Gettysburg, or Vegas or New York City. I thought about doing a reset at a ranch outside Reno because you have to have two 1-5 AM time slots but it only took me about 10 minutes, 8 of which was waiting to make sure the credit card was good.

unloading and loading appointments will dictate your days, and mileage. Are you doing 500 mile loads, or 2,000 mile loads...

Me I ran recap for weeks, average 2800 miles, but after about 3 weeks on the road, a 34 hour reset, get out of the truck, into a motel room, is a nice refreshing break.

like others i manage my hours until i want to reset
even if you sit for too long you go on duty for 15 minutes breaks the 34 so you can do it when and where you
want to do it not when the evil ones in the office say so

I'm about to go to a place that sends me out 24 days then home 5 days. I can pick reset or recap as long as I drop on time, so that's kind of what I'm trying to plan for/work out by asking averages...
