Pot is becoming more except able in our nation. But it is not okay in trucking. I am not speaking from experience so feel free to argue. I believe that THC will stay in your body for quite a while. I also am under the impression that it will slow down your reaction time. I do not know whether or not you are safe to smoke more then 8 hours before driving or not. Alcohol wears off over time so a beer then 8 hours of sleep and you should be good. But with Pot, not enough information. Just avoid it. Better safe then wrecked.

I don't really see a lot that would hold you up? Your drug charges are over 10 years old and misdemeanors at that so that probably wouldn't affect you, the accident, you wasn't charged with it so it shouldn't hold you up. Like China said, the year and a half unemployment might raise a few questions but I don't think it would completely ban you from a job? I don't think you'll have a problem. Good Luck!

 

I was unemployed for three years living under a bridge with a prostitute. All I did was make a fake resume and got my friend to be the call back number. A guy in orientation did the same thing.

 

Just make sure your urines clean. A dirty urine goes on your dac for life and no one will hire you. This happened to three people at Western Express orientation. One guy was crying.

 

If he hasn't smoked/ingested since he was a teen, he will be much more than safe for a screening.

Just to inform you guys, it takes THC (active component of pot that gets you stoned): 5-7 days to leave your system for a urine test and about 2 weeks to a month for blood test.

The vast majority of hair tests look back 3 months (1 1/2 inches of hair; 1/2 inch for every month). It gets increasingly expensive for any time period past that. Hair will reveal usage up to 4 years back, but, again, it's very, very expensive.

I'm not a scientist or anything, I just used to be a very frequent smoker and I did my research on every aspect of the plant. I hope this helps at least one person.
