    JB Hunt 2 weeks out .39, 3 weeks .40, 4 weeks .41

US Xpress 2 weeks out, guaranteed $1k a week

    Con-way .32 cpm, .34 after 30,000 miles, .37 after 60,000 miles

Everyone is saying go with Con-way but JB Hunt offers probably my best pay. Why not go there?

I've noticed ya can't really look at the CPM with mega carriers.

    $.40 x 2000 miles = $800 and $.31 x 2600 miles = $806
Start lookin more into the pay before ya second year starts up, first year is gonna be wild inconsistent no matter what. $35-40k gross.....

Do you have a year at the wheel? If so I would would look for smaller carriers and stay away from the megas.

I would put the names in a hat then draw two out and go with the one that is left.

If you are with a company and they are treating you well I would stay there. If not, figure out what the issues are and see if you can work through it.

I am currently with Swift, make two years in August and I do not plan on going anywhere for a long time. I understand everyone's experience is different but to me, tenure and getting to know who I work with on a daily basis are more important to me than a few more cpm. I know Swift's systems, I know my terminal manager, my DM is excellent, my terminal is laughed at for being a drop yard within the company but these people are here for me and treat me well.

Last week I ran 2772 miles, sure people do more a week and that's great for them but my circumstances and my wallet and lifestyle can survive off of these miles I get here. I get miles here and I can't complain about anything. People say watch out for the megas, and not slamming anyone, but if you learn the system and how to work it and willing to work you'll make money. When I see cpm for such and such a company I pay no attention to it because cpm is not all there is with a trucking company. There is way more than cpm. Good luck on whatever you decide.

What are you getting per mile? What's your other pay as well? Where are you located?

    BEST POST TODAY SO FAR.

I guarantee this guy and I could go and work at any of these carriers and make it work where others will quit.

You get hired, you go to work, you work hard. After 1-2 years, after you figure the game out, then go looking for better opportunities, and leave on good terms.
