There is one fact here that we know for certain, and that is a Walmart truck rear-ended a vehicle. Anything else has yet to be proven, as far as I'm concerned.

With some of the idiotic things I've seen buses do, I am not about to be too quick to place the blame on this driver.

On a different note, after having read through this whole thread, there are some of you trying to turn this into an "I hate Walmart" pissing match, and consider yourselves duly warned that this is not going to happen. Are we clear on that?

    Carry on.

I always have said stand by your fellow trucker as he is in your direct interest..

I'm sorry for the deaths but only a celebrity clown could gain this much attention from the media. It still amazes me that a multi-millionaire would be chauffeured on a dangerous highway when he could have easily flown home. Maybe he's funny to some but obviously not too smart.

How is it possible for the trailer to be damaged but not the tractor when the bridge says 12'7"..?

It was the angle of the photos. Tractors are closer to 13' +/- a few inches. The bridge was probably closer to 13'. I'm sure it scraped the bug crud off the upper fairing though.

Any highway is dangerous. The clown probably doesn't have a license from his several DUI's. Karma works in mysterious ways. Not wishing any harm. But karma is really funny. Hire a driver and still get in serious wreck, Did i mention Karma :biggrin_25520:

This is a fellow co-worker not directly, but sure as heck wont throw him under the bus. Can anyone imagine the crap on shoulders right now trying to process everything.

The wreck occurred about 1 a.m. ET Saturday on the turnpike in Mercer County, Williams said.

"The driver of the tractor-trailer failed to observe slow-moving traffic ahead," Williams said. "At the last minute, he swerved to try and avoid the Mercedes limo bus but struck it from behind, forcing the limo to rotate and overturn."

Planes crash, too. Fatality of all or at least most is usually assured when that happens, so I don't know that I would say going by limo was that inappropriate. You can ride in the limo to your door, the plane requires a car on each end.

I hate that stretch of I-95, especially at night.

Yeah that's funny: MSM " at the last minute " more like a few seconds. But i get the dialect of the expression. Driver killed, no doubt. Crap situation all around.
