Im looking to hire a new driver and have 2 trucks in mind. Which would you prefer to drive?
2010 Kenworth T660
10 speed manual
midroof, (cant stand up in front, but can in sleeper)
(2) 100 gallon fuel tanks
Cummings motor
2010 Freghtliner Cascadia
10 speed Ultrashift.
midroof (can stand up in front and sleeper)
(2) 120 gallon fuel tanks
Detroit motor
Both have leather seats, both have kenwood radios xm ready. Both have Apu's.
So as a company driver, which would you prefer to drive (not prefer to own) Company A drives the t660, company b drives the Cascadia, which company would you drive for?
What truck would an experianced driver prefer to drive?

I've always been partial to the KWs. I drove a T660 for years and it was a great truck. I've been in a T680 for a couple months now, and its even better. This is a highly subjective question, though.
blairandgretchen and Richter Thank this. -
The Cascadia, but with the Cummins. Just to prove you can never please drivers.
Seriously - the condo over the mid roof - the standup issue drove me bat crap crazy after a while. These condos have the Cummins and they just pull better - though I don't know what settings are present.Richter Thanks this. -

neither one of those two..I perfer a 378 or 379 pete..model years 99 to 03,with a detroit,10 speed
"semi" retired and 281ric Thank this. -
I'm partial to the KW. But being an experienced driver.. much would depend on the set up. What engine, tranny, gauges, gear ratio, govd speed, apu, sleeper arrangement etc.
If the KW was a 10 spd and the FL was 13/18 all else equal, I'd prefer the FL for that reason alone.
But thats just me. Other guys might be happier in the KW just because its a KW. Petes and KW have always held more prestige from a drivers perspective.
Look into a Pete 386 also. I drove one for a year and loved it. The stereo system alone made my trips that much more enjoyable.

What year is the Cascadia? And what are you pulling?

When you are a company driver what really matters is how much are you going to get paid, how much money are you going to make? How well is the company going to treat you?
Second to that is the truck.
IMHO though I would go for the Kenworth, they are a better built truck, 95% of my driving experience is in Kenworths, I love em they are great trucks.
When I grow my operation to the point I am hiring drivers and putting them on my trucks I will be ordering T660 gliders and putting a CAT 6NZ in em with an 18 speed. Will have to see on the T680's haven't had enough of a chance to look at em yet.
I don't care for Freightliners because they tend to be throw away trucks. They are cheap and plastic.
