Sure hope none of you were headed north on I-81 through VA today. Wow, what a mess. Thankfully I was headed south, that was wide open.

hard brake today, trailer brakes delayed in actuating then once they did, grabbed hard and locked. YET, nothing flew around the cab nor did my neck jerk like has happened with onguard chasing ghosts. Yet onguard doesnt trigger it. WTF.

Has nothing to do with braking, just whatever the speed sensor detects. I mentioned this before, but back in February I got nailed for a hard brake when I never even touched the brake. Lost traction on snow, speedometer shot up, regained traction and speedometer dropped immediately. So yeah, lock up on drive axle is what caused it. Speed sensor detected you were going zero all of a sudden.

I get that, but the speed dropped due to the trailer brakes grabbing like they did. JCP old crap. 935/5 series stuff.

Admitedly I was on the brakes, solid. but have had enough of them in the past to know whats what.

Our drivers have a lot of problems with the ABS on the old trailers. It seems I spend more time red tagging trailers for the ABS than anything. I would love to see them do away with the old JRA747XXX trailers.
