A driver will never be 100% accurate when using paper logs, just real close. I use that to my advantage. Ask me no questions & I'll tell you no lies.

It has taken almost two weeks to read the entire thread to this point. And I have to say that Snackbar, JD and the gang are right. All the questions you could ask about how Poly is have been asked and answered numerous times throughout. IMHO if you're new to the thread, or you're a trucking management lurker, read this entire 422 pages and you'll find that there is a way to keep truckers happy and in fairly close harmony with management at a trucking company. Something that, until following Snackbar through Crete Cruelty Company and his switch to Poly, I had thought was completely impossible.

Though I am just beginning my quest to return to trucking ... after being sidelined by the mortgage fiasco and loosing a house over the last few years ... I can tell you now that I'll be applying to Poly as soon as I can garner the required experience through some soul crushing mega-carrier. While I still have that nightmare to get through, thanks to you guys here, I know for certain that there IS a light at the end of the tunnel and it is definitely NOT the head of an on-coming train.

Thanks for the effort in getting the word out about Poly. I'll be lurking and will be out there with you soon. I may take the form of a White on White Swiftie or perhaps I'll get back on with Stevens and rejoin the Buzzards, but I'll be there soon. Take care, and keep the shiny side up and the greasy side down.

jdrentzjr, most of Poly's own drivers may not know this thread even exists, let alone most drivers in general as there are only approximately 3.5 million Class A CDL holders in the USA. This forum has about 143,000 members. If every member was a Class A CDL holder, which they are not, that would only comprise 4% of total Class A CDL holders in the USA. Poly is not using this forum as a primary means of recruiting. My point about Poly's advertising for drivers is that it is too vague and does not draw attention to its positive aspects of the job.

For drivers who have found this thread and come to Poly as a driver, the information in this thread can certainly give them a leg up in getting settled in the new job. You guys deserve credit for helping each other not just to get hired, but also helping each other with problems or solutions on a day to day basis. The Walmart thread I have posted on has been mostly drivers trying to get hired on, but most who do/do not disappear and are not there to help others. You guys here are like a growing family, and that deserves a bravo! :)

I actually saw them in one of those mini-mag truck stop job books. I read the ad, and was tempted, but kept thinking of that old saying...if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. It wasn't until I started reading the other Poly thread on the forum, then my fellow former Creten brothers came over here and proved the old saying wrong.

Well, let me just start with the news. I am no longer at Poly.
Now let me explain. My move had nothing to do with Poly. I have just reached a point in life where OTR is no longer compatible with my family needs. I am still just as glad that I moved to Poly as I was when I started this thread. Poly always treated me fairly and provided my family a generous income. I would still recommend this company to anyone wanting a top notch OTR job.
As for me, I have moved over to Gemini transportation and am hauling fuel for Loves. I work 4 days a week and am away only one night a week. It's different work from what I was used to at Poly, a little more physical, but I am really enjoying the people and the time at home. I provide fuel for Shepherdsville KY and Memphis IN stores so if any of you are through the area on a weekend and see a loves truck dropping fuel, stop and say hi.

I knew Poly existed, had seen the trucks on occasion, but the way I found out about them hiring was through the shower monitor in a truck stop. There was an ad running on the side, or bottom. Poly asked me also about how I found out about them. Funny thing, HR manager said they quit paying for the digital ads months ago. I guess no one told the truck stop I was in. lol

I'm on my first load as a Poly driver. I left GP Friday afternoon and drove to almost the LA/MS state line and then got home (Florida) to do my 34 reset yesterday around 1300. I deliver in Jacksonville first thing Tuesday morning.
