Thanks, so far so good. It's an adjustment (pleasant) not having someone micro manage my every move and actually let me think for myself. And, although a little more work, the paper logs don't bother me. I'll trade a little extra effort on my part for not having someone babysit my every move. Finally, I am REALLY glad to not have that On Guard system on the truck. My truck at Roehl had it and I told them that thing is a law suit waiting to happen. The first time that thing hits the brakes on its own without cause and causes a driver to lose control (wet conditions, curve, etc...) a lawyer is going to have a field day with the truck company and the manufacturer of that thing. Mine went off sometimes due to a shadow. It went off once as I was driving straight down the interstate, but it sensed a car on the exit ramp.

I think my truck is schizo...as in multi-personality. When I first got it, I topped the tanks off before my 1st run which was GP to Loveland...I topped the tanks off in Bennett, CO...and got a calculated mileage of under 5.5. I delivered in Loveland and deadheaded to Green River and picked up a heavier load going back to Houston. Once again I stopped in Bennett to top off since it was the last fuel stop on my route back thru TX until GP. Once again, even with 325 miles of pulling an empty trailer, 5.5 mpg. Between Bennett and GP...with a heavier load down the exact same route, when I filled in GP...6.5 mpg. I ended up doing a bit more idling over the next couple days on the 'auto start', so the round trip from GP to Houston and back got 5.2 mpg. Now on this load headed up to Rockford...up US69/75 then the hills on I-44 in MO...I am now getting 6.7 on this last fill up. There is no predicting this truck. I like it, it's quiet, pulls decent, the a/c is still working after 7 days...but the fuel mileage is all over the place...and terrain doesn't seem to be the root cause of it...weird

Hey , when dispatch gives you the reference code for a hand unload , do you just keep it for your record or do we need to write it on the trip report somewhere .

Do they feed it into the system ?

I write it in at the bottom of the expense section, just to make sure.

Worse...it's a Maxxfarce Prostar. My Cummins Prostar wasn't quite so unpredictible...but I have minor hearing loss from it's engine noise.
