Like it's been said...things will start clicking into place for ya' real soon, then you'll be posting numbers very similar...I only turned 8325 last month because I took 7 days off. This month I won't go home to make up for the excess home time I have already taken this year....Mev Thanks this. -
I'm a little over 9k so far .
Thats just for 3.5 weeks
If I averaged a complete month
it would be better , but I've only been here just passing a month .
I found out a " week " to Poly
is 5 working days , as opposed to 7 .
They don't count weekends -
i have 2040 miles so far this month

I'm sitting in Midland. Delivered this morning and told can't roll back to GP. Another Poly had the same back haul load as me from Quincy, FL to here. We delivered at the same time, but he was told to roll back. That's strange to me. I called back haul this morning and again around 1230 and still nothing. I'm going to call again in a bit (before they go home)

I received some more surprising news when I got my backhaul call today...more about that in a minute. I'm going to call this outbound load my voice mail load. Yesterday, when I picked this load up, I tried to call stop number 1 many times. All I got was voice mail. I finally left a message about my estimated delivery time and rolled out. I tried to Google Map the customer, but it was a dairy in really rural MO, and Google Maps put the address on a 1 lane dirt road with nothing around. So, I get up this a.m. and go just beyond the town to Nevada, MO and YP.com the dairy's name. Sure enough it came up with the exact same address only a different phone number. I call it....automated system....but it had an option of the guys name that was the contact on the load sheet...voice mail...but different than before, it had an option to hit 0 before the message to speak to someone else. And this time I got a human...who not only was glad I was delivering today, but gave accurate directions...I think...he had a very strong Australian or New Zealand accent... headed for the place, which, by the way, WASN'T where Google Maps said...and when I got off the US routes onto the state route...a narrow....one of the "trailer duals on the yellow line the other side dual past the white line" state routes...then I came to the customers road...or should I say driveway with a street name. 1 lane dirt road juuuuuust wide enough to turn into. If I had my tandems back 1 more pin, I would have had to dangle the outer trailer tire off the edge of a 2' ditch. 30 minutes, outa there...called stop 2...voice mail....arrrrrrgh. But they were easy to find, so I left my eta on the message and hauled out. When I stopped for lunch, I called stop 3's contact number...and it wasn't a valid number....but there was an alternate number...called it, and a real live person answered and said unless I could run a forklift (with a legal license) it would have to be Monday (I didn't tell him I sorta planned on that) but when I got directions, they didn't match the address. When I gave him the address that was on the b/l, he said...they must want this at "the farm", and put me on hold. When a different person answered, it was the guy I tried to call the 1st time. He said he was going out of town for the weekend and said Monday...then paused, and said, if I really needed it off Saturday, to call him anyway and he would unload...but I kinda need to do a 34, so I said enjoy your time out of town, and I'll see you Monday...it kinda caught him off guard a bit but agreed.
Now, on to my surprise backhaul. I expected to get the call Monday since it wasn't until I spoke to stop 3 that I set my pta for Monday...enroute to OKC, back haul calls...I was expecting something heading to GP...but instead I head to Carlsbad, NM by 3 pm Monday to pick up a load going back to Perham, MN for Thursday..then roll back to UPN....all in all, a 3000+ mile tour of the midwest and southwest...and, I called Outbound and did a long distance request for my name to be on Thursday's UPN board. So, unlike the lack-o-planning department over at Happy Valley Trucking...I know my future for the next 7 days...by the 24th I will have turned in 11,000+ miles...and untold number of smiles have crossed my face...even with this weeks Pepsi back haul from Hades...I am still enjoying the crap out of working here.Last edited: Jul 18, 2014
jdrentzjr, Rattlebunny, TLeaHeart and 1 other person Thank this. -
I'm still in Midland. Delivered yesterday morning and haven't got a backhaul yet. Another driver had the exact same load and delivered the same time i did. He was told to roll back. I was told it's too far. I'll admit I'm fairly frustrated right now.
Contemplating calling one of the supervisorsMev Thanks this.
