I have been accepted by Pepsi to drive a bay truck here in Nashville, TN. They said they are in such need that even management is having to drive routs. My main question for any Pepsi drivers or if you know of a driver, is the hours. The most common review I read is, "It is a lot of fun, and I enjoy it but long hours." I know it varies day by day, but on average how many hours do you work a day? 10 hours a day? Thanks

If they are that in need, I would expect to work 12-14 hours a day.

12 to 14 hours a day. As a relief driver you're a helper someday and a driver some. About 12 to 21 stops a day, probably depends where you live.

Ex soda driver also a friend works for Pepsi

If Pepsi is in need of drivers like every other local company is then plan on working 12 hrs minimum and plan on Pepsi wanting you back to work each day immediately after your 10 hr brake.More then likely Pepsi will work you as close to your 14 as possible. So be prepared for that.I assume Pepsi is subjected to the HOS like the trk drivers aren't they?

I work for a beer distributor but have buddies at Pepsi/Coke it's the exact same thing. If your a relief / spare driver as it was said your days will change.....daily! Most of the time when you cover a route completely you'll get help. Other times you'll assist a guy that's heavy that day. The bay truck guys (straight truck) and side loaders (trailer) usually do convenience stores. Typically day starts at 5:00am until the route is complete. 8-10hrs is typical. It's a lot of running around but you can make good money doing it and home every night. Once your in start watching for bulk/grocery routes to open up. Then your just bumping docks and dropping pallets. That what I did with this beer thing. I just got a second (bigger) route that opened up so more money, more commissions. Still assuming once my first year is up I'll look around but if the moneys good I may stay. Beverage isn't that bad a deal.

I delivery milk in a tractor-trailer to Walmart, Sams club, Costco Im also a relief driver and my day starts anywhere from midnight to 4 am and most routes are 10 hrs give or take a few. I always run into pepsi and coke they are always at the stores anywhere from 3 am to 11 am. I work 4 days a week sometimes 5 but always have two days off to do my reset. oh and as a relief driver I get paid a little more then regular route drivers.

It's a grind. I worked 12 hours the other day. 23 stops, 642 pieces- and only drove 40 miles. Lol. 18 of em from the plant to my first stop. That's a pretty big day, but it's also fairly common.

I guess it depends on where you're at, but we NEVER get helpers. I've heard other divisions do though. It's a lot of work, but the money is good. If you don't mind working at warp speed every day (I don't) it's not a bad gig

Some say that like most driving jobs, this one requires us to have at least 10 hr reset. True? I actually prefer not to have "helper" because what if I get stuck with one of those people who think they are the boss, or that person who wants to flirt with cashiers and store workers. So 12 hrs is the normal work day with some days 14?
