Is it possible to work for Mercer and only do short loads ( 600 miles and under or over nite trips ) out of Chicago area and back and still be successful and profitable? Would want to be home every other night if possible....

I cant speak as to prifitability, but yes we have a lot out of and in to Chicago. Inside that radius is no problem. Rates are good. I run long, but there is a lot of that stuff on our board.

nice... does the curtain side limit the loads available to you ? i understand that that it replaces tarps which is good... that is my biggest concern in flat bedding... get along in years ya know -

Ksgunny. Don't stress tarping. Its not as hard as some make it out to be. Many customers help you. And every customer will put your tarps up on the load. All ya gotta do is spread them and hook rope or bungee cords.

He's probably been working to hard as I have been since rates are incrediable high.
Like this load out of KC going to washington island, WI. over $4 mile and it's not over size. It'll be my first time out to Washington Island.
