Congrats on passing the cdl test dneno! September is good time to start, gives you a couple months to get the hang of things before winter comes along.

There's oil work in California as well dneno, I know nothing about it except that I used to drive past a whole lot of jack pumps on the 101 somewhere!

I did some checking and it just doesn't pay as well as the mid-west. Plus I grew up on a farm in ND so I know all about the winter and most of my relatives are there. I have been getting pretty tired of the CA commute I have now, 5 hours minimum round trip. Figure if I am driving that much might as well get paid doing it.

Hey guys, havent posted in a week or two, I ended up getting a sand hauling job in williston 3 days after I got here and offers from some other water hauling outfits, but I'm gonna give this sand company a go. They have a really nice lot, you get your own dedicated peterbilt with 18 speed.

You live in the truck, but I don't mind. I don't have to pay some of the outrageous rents out here, and man camps can be very hit and miss. The trucks got a fridge, and microwave, APU and 1200 watt inverter, and theres a really nice drivers lounge with all sorts of ####. And all the trucks have SiriusXM.

The training has been.... slow since the main trainer was on vacation. I'm finally gonna be hauling my first sand loads tomorrow.

Just have seen the trucks and heard about them. Sand hauling is a good business to be in.

I hope so. That sand thread in this forum scared me a bit lol. But after talking to some Brady drivers, it seems like a good business to be into.

Any of you guys who worked in the Bakken, any GPS systems you would recommend? Are there any GPS that have the rigs on them? Or should I just stick with the paper maps
