Also, I will use 48 as an example. Generally, he has been a level headed poster here...a few gripes here and there, but is also one to stand up for the company if someones post's get too negative or are off base...but look at some of his latest post...even he is getting tired of it all there and would jump ship if a suitable alternative would appear.48Packard Thanks this. -
i think shorter runs are the root cause of all the other frustrations, loading, unloading,'droppn,'hookn,
in and out of customers everyday, run out of hrs, cant find parkin spot etc etc, i knew when picking a company long runs were on the top of my list,'we all deal with alot of the same frustrations but its the short runs that wear drivers out, at least thats what i believe, when im tired and worn
out i think if i were doin shorter runs i would crack. be safe and if all are lookn for somthin more regional or local i would check into ruan, u dont find too much about them which is good, i was there 6 yrs but i needed a change and knew i could go back anytime, they have many different accts but when i avgd my mlg pay it was up around 45 for every mile i ran, they also
pay for breakdown, waiting to unload etc, im sure its different with other accts but my dispatchers were some of the best people ive worked for, im over at poly now but its just a thought. i kept up on this thread while i was searching for somthin new, it was the shorter runs that kept me away. -

Oh, btw, you get a reputation for never turning down a load? Guess what. All you'll ever get offered is the loads nobody else wants. I ran into a few of those drivers when I was there. 8000 to 9000 miles a month practically every month? Never getting your annual pay raise? Eff that. You can keep it. -

I used to never turn down loads. I would always accept it then maybe send a message to the next destination requesting something longer. It's when my communications seemed in vain that I grew frustrated. It's when I began to sit after busting my bee-hind that I grew frustrated. It's when I was asked to do favors when OPs needed them only to have my requests shunned is when I grew frustrated. Like you said if it's not working for you; move on. Life is too short to remain in a place you're not happy with. Get happy or get out! -
in federal221 style....a second post...haha
I'm off to Midland tomorrow to get settled in to my two week housing for orientation. I just bought a 38ft 5th wheel trailer to live in. The guy I bought it from is even gonna deliver it since my li'l S10 is..well...an S10! It's a sweet Montana w/ 4 slides, two A/C's and a washer/drier combo. It also has a generator just in case the elect. goes out. Reckon I will be popular should that happen. Just like in Afghanistan when I would get my "Care Package" from home, everyone came to Joe's place!crappiejunkie, tucker and xlsdraw Thank this.
