since the thread originator has moved on as well, and the fact that I seemed to be the head hijacker...feel free to post. Since biz has been so brisk, and many of us are so busy and have pretty much the same story of miles, money and shop issues, it'll breathe some new life into this thread. Besides many of your post prior to your new adventure were helpful and informative for many of us. I for one would like to see how things over there have changed since I was a BCO there.
Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

Found a new problem with my truck. My 5th wheel pneumatic unlock has no air pressure. My load to Henderson is the resin, like from Pol-Tex. But this load was 45,000 lbs, and all the way to the back door. I knew there was no flying fornication of a chance that this was going to scale...and I was right, but it was only 20-40 lbs over on the rear set at 41'. So, hoping that a 5th wheel slide of 1 pin would rebalance 20 lbs...I tried to slide...nothing. I even unhooked from the trailer and beat on it in case it was just stuck....nothing...so, 20-40 lbs should be able to be corrected with a tap of the brakes. I hooked up, drove around the building and hit the brakes like I had to stop quick for a red light. Went back around and now I was almost over on my drives. I moved 3000 lbs from a 15 mph stop. Whomever loaded this left space in the front, and I slid the whole load 1 pallet forward...took a peek when checking out and all still upright and pretty with the plywood bracing still there, but 4 feet ahead of the load locks.Last edited: Aug 23, 2014

(that way it will be easy to spot ) -
Thanks for the responses. I guess I should start a new thread just to keep from hijacking this one.

Here is the new thread, http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...periences-rambling-and-rants.html#post4203149
Bumper, ampm wayne, GabeScott and 3 others Thank this. -
I have an announcement...I here by take back anything nice I have ever said about Maxxforce engines. This high dollar POS is as unreliable as any Crete truck I drove. As soon as I...strike that, if I ever make it back to GP, I am going to see if my old truck is fixed yet...this by far is one of the biggest piles of donkey poo I have had. With whatever is going wrong I will start up a hill, it starts coughing like it has a hairball, the falls on it's face. The autostart won't work, the cruise keep shutting off, the throttle sticks just enough to keep the jake from working...I would say something about the engineer that designed these and what I would like to see happen to him...but I would start sounding like monkeyhouse and get banned. Let's just say, it isn't a pleasant happy-happy thought

What am I missing ?
Why doesn't Poly just contract with one of the trucking
companies already out there.
Why do they spend so much money on their own private
trucking company ?
I bet they spend a small fortune on these trucks and trying to keep
them running isn't cheap either.
What gives ?
Is it a liability thing or similar ?
( Busch beer and Miller beer as an example uses Millis transfer in north Ga to move their product.) -
You would think that a company with that size of a fleet would be contracted to Penske. Much easier.
