They don't rent or lease anything. Everything Poly has is owned. Nothing is financed, nothing has payments, nothing is leased (except perhaps the forklifts in the warehouse). Everything Poly has is bought and paid for at the time of purchase. We, like Crete, are a privately owned, debt free corporation.

The best thing they could do is stop buying any International trucks. Few drivers here like them and most feel that they are the cheapest piece of equipment money can buy. But...we don't control the finances, Poly does. So if we want to play on Poly's playground, we have to play with their equipment, or go play elsewhere. If I ever choose to leave, it will be because of the equipment and/or the worthless shop.

Thinking back to my last job ,
they had the equipment blues also ,
it was so bad it nearly put them out of business.
Theres really no one to blame.

Unless you wanted to blame the Gub'.
I recall the old 2007 KW s with the big Cat C15s
seemed to run without any trouble,
    the engines weren't
equipped with emissions and regen systems.
I guess one could say the ran great because they could breath.

Yea, but most don't have it to the level Poly is having. Much of it is in how the trucks are spec'd and repaired...right now I'm surprised we aren't issued duct tape and bailing wire with our shop goodie kits. One driver I talked to here recently said one of the trailer mechanics attempted to fix an air leak with duct tape...he had to go to the shop office and get management involved. Needless to say, that trailer mechanic is no longer wearing a Poly moon suit.

I apologize to any real mechanics that read this post...I didn't mean to insult you by calling the people in our shop mechanics...but the technicians that read this sent me a nasty e-mail saying that they were insulted by me using the term "technicians" to describe out shop people, so I am searching for an acceptable, non-offensive term to refer to them as. ####### #######s was blocked by the profanity filter, as was worthless ####### pieces of ####.

Sounds like management needs to wake up to the situation and do a bit more management of the ongoing issues along with some in depth house cleaning with the shop staff

    Mev and 48Packard Thank this.

I wonder if that is partly due to the fact that Poly is a manufacturing company with a trucking division instead of a trucking company. They guys fixing the plastic manufacturing machines biotch to them as much as the drivers do.

so i walk out of truckstop back toward my truck, and i notice the truck on the right side of me pulled out, so like always i go over to check out my fender, then i notice a spot on my trailer that has been calked but im thinkn i dont remember that, then i look at the trailer tandems and i swear i had super singles but this one has duals, so i look at the truck number and its not mine, im parked a few down from him, so if ur at the texarkana fj and noticed another driver wandering around ur truck that was me, i guess i need to go to sleep goodnite

It's very difficult to find factory trained , we'll experienced techs any more.
I talked to the KW shop in the town where I live and lack of truly talented techs
    is breaking their backs.
My brother for example manages a Nissan shop back east and they too are hurting for talent,
all that's available anymore is what's referred to as " parts swappers " , true diagnostic
    technicians are almost extinct.
It's scary to imagine what this line of work will look like in 2 to 5 years.
They should relax the engine emission standards until these companies can sort all
    of the bugs out .
Caterpillar was wise to remove themselves from the industry when they did, they knew it wasn't
    possible to meet the demands
