I have to agree with the shop problems. In the 4 months here, I've had 2 trucks towed. First time cost me 5 days of work stuck down in Laredo. Lucked out this time. My truck is fixed in Houston, but now it has to get back to GP somehow and then go get the APU fixed. Hard telling how long for that.
My loaner I'm in is starting to fall apart. Need to get back and switch into another one. Pain in the button moving from truck to truck.
Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

So if for instance you break down in far away place and it's going to be a while before the local shop can get it rolling again Poly expects you to get your self home and then back to
the truck once it's repaired at your own expense ?
Don't they just put you up in a local motel like most companies until the trucks ready ? -
Mev Thanks this.

I'm really beginning to love to hate this place

I told my wife that if this truck leaves me stranded, to expect to pick me up at the Jacksonville airport within a week...because I would mail the keys back to Poly and fly home, leaving their equipment like they left me...abandoned and stranded...and that would close the final chapter of my driving career. That is how this company's equipment and their worthless arrogant and incompetent shop has affected my perception of this company. That and I found some online court documents about an appeals court case between Poly and a fired employee who was let go AFTER he was injured on the job, and how the COMPANY doctor released him to return to work even though he was still unable to work due to his injury...he was then fired because he couldn't do his job (because his injury wasn't healed fully). Since the whole case transcript wasn't online, only the appeals court findings were there, there's no telling who was wrong...for all I know the guy could have been a lazy dirt bag and trying to milk the system...or, he could have been in the right, but given the shaft instead of the gold mine.Last edited: Aug 28, 2014

thats for sure. I try to put my mind else where ,
i have the ability to move about spacetime at will.
Give me a book to read and the world disappears.
Regarding your point ,
It is certainly an ongoing tragedy at this company as far as equipment goes,
add to the problem a maintenance dept. that's in way over its
collective heads and you got yourself a full blown miniature replica of the Obama administration .Don't seem like much is going to get done at this good ole boy network.
So don't hold your breath.
Bottom line,
Expect the worst with these trucks so as not to be too surprised
and watch your back as far as abandonment goes.
Trucking is one sided , they can crap on you , but you can't crap back.
Lawmakers need to be more aware of this phenomenon
and adjust the DAC process so as to not let companies
get away with black balling ex drivers when they
are put in a hopeless situation and essentially
forced to abandon a vehicle in order to continue
their own lives and provide for their self and their families.
For example they don't blackball a pilot when he has to eject
from a damaged plane for heavens sake!
There needs to be more fairness in this industry.
Im not familiar with the court case , but it's not surprising.
It's a feeding frenzy when it comes to survival on this planet.
We may never know the whole truth.
good luck SSB
