Keep your head high SS, I know it's extremely frustrating when people can't/won't do the job they are tasked to do. Having come from the repair side of the street (14 years) as a tech/supervisor/manager I have come across all types. What you see at Poly appears to be parts replacers (much like Crete) they have no real troubleshooting skills, don't understand the systems or simply don't care to (collect a paycheck).
I always took pride in my work and had a fix it right the 1st time goal..good techs are hard to come by, if you have one PAY EM !! Most are parts replacers, throw a part at it hoping it fixes it/ if not rinse repeat till they get it fixed (IF they fix it). there are 2 kinds of mechanics.. Techs and Parts Replacers...Techs are hard to find and when you do find one KEEP EM
This was one of the reasons I took Poly off my list..breakdowns/truck issues.. It is frustrating and something as a driver we have no control over and these new trucks with all the EPA/CARB mandated garbage is killing the reliable and easiest engine to work on (diesels).
Best of luck SS I'm pullin for ya !!
Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

I earned my CDL by working in a shop, and I was the mechanic on my own truck for years (except where a Detroit ECM interface was needed)...maybe that is why I am so critical...I expect too much from people nowadays. I forget that not everyone takes their job responsibilities as serious as I do.Rattlebunny and 53STEP Thank this. -

Almost forgot to mention it but they will load you fairly heavy and there isn't a place to scale the load anywhere close. In fact, you got to hope the little weigh station is closed on the way back to I-5 or it could be trouble. They shouldn't load you over gross but definitely heavy enough to need an axle weight to know you're good. Turns out I had set the axles just wright once I did get to check the load out on a Cat Scale. All and all it was a good load. Guy got me in and out in about an hour there at Aberdeen and then only took about an hour and a half there at the delivery in Henderson. Hope that information helps. Good luck with your load and take care out there.supersnackbar and majestyk Thank this. -

I think things will work out here at Poly,at least I'm going to try to work with it.
I rage on life too some days ( and nights ) ,I can get pretty carried away by the energy and get caught up projecting some hate onto the problems.
Its probably good I don't have access to the Launch Codes come to think of it.
Anger , rage and hate isn't pleasant , but I'm getting good at recognizing it , sucking it up , letting it wash over me , and return to home base.
I may end up being a guru or something someday , but I don't know how well it pays
Hang in there Super
On a happy note,
i have finally found a vibe with dispatch and things are smoothing out.
took me a while to tune in but it's looking better.
i still need to be extra cautious on back hauls , sometimes they require a pretty
fair amount of hours to make it on time,so I'm prepared for that eventuality.Last edited: Aug 28, 2014
