AHA!! I think I found the "mystery" about the weight of this load... The BOL says it is 42,475 lbs. But my scale ticket, after scaling it at 2 different locations shows that it is between 28,000 and 29,000 lbs... So, after further examination of this BOL, I found that this load came from overseas and it is about 13.000 klgs... Which in lbs corresponds to a little over 28,000 lbs... Seems that folks totally miscalculated the conversion... :biggrin_25526:

I met a highway patrol officer at Subway here less than one hr ago and took the opportunity to tell him about the incident with other officer last night at rest area... :yes2557: and asked him if there has been any thing bad happening there lately.
He told me that this is part of their commercial vehicle safety enforcement whatever and that some folks with warrants and felonies hide in rest areas at night...
And I said, yeah, I understand but knocking on truck drivers' doors and disturbing them in the middle of their 10 hr break at night is not right. :biggrin_25510: If they want to check us out or give us a level 1, then do it when we are awaken and not in the middle of our OFF duty time.
He agreed with me and told me he had no idea why the other officer did what he did...:biggrin_25526:
At least I vented some and told him what I think about it without risking getting an inspection... :biggrin_25519:

Our little town made the news! There was a small plane crash with a fatality a couple miles east.
I am solidly home until tomorrow morning.
