I was told on another thread 18K and up, just to add it to a trailer. I'd love one but can't quite justify that much money.

Haha @ "pretty enough"! I've seen some pretty rough lookin trucks @ Mercer ... specially cuz ours is one of them!!! :biggrin_2559:

Don't think there's anything to be nervous about. Mercer is full of great folks! They take care of all IFTA stuff, your permits/plates can be less expensive on an annual basis (due to "bonus" type calculations) and you don't have to pound the pavement (so to speak) looking for loads, they pay the load insurance and there are other "little" perks. Yeah, you give up 25% of the load pay, but hell, you'd probably pay that in all the stuff listed above anyway (either in money or time).

Yeah, it's not for everyone, but IMO it's a whole lot less stressful and it's really nice to know if we have to shut down in the Louisville area, we'll be able to find a place to park! :biggrin_25526:

Well, the way DH & I look at it is like this. Tarps cost what, about 1k for a good 8' drop set? They're gonna get torn up, there's just no way around it. You can pad to your hearts content but eventually something is gonna get missed or padding is gonna "slip" a bit. Then there's the potential "claims" from "tarp damage" and trust me it happens (just happened a couple weeks ago to us).

Well, a kit would save a lot of this from happening and, in the long run, pays for itself. Not to mention neither one of us are getting any younger. I have real difficulty lifting those tarps to begin with so usually it is DH who does most of the tarping and I just "help". So there again, I could close one myself and not have to get his help. :biggrin_25522:

Really gotta weigh the pro's & con's. Oh, not to mention the hour or so it takes to tarp a load vs. what, 10 minutes? Less time, less sweat, less dirt and less effort! LOL Bonus!

EDITED TO CHANGE COST OF TARPS TO 1K FROM 3K LOL :)

Team Sohn, where do you buy tarps? My 8ft set was $700. Heavy material.

Anyone know who to call for windshield replacements? Took a rock Thursday on the way home.

Call Mercer, don't they have something setup with Safelite still? Used to be free or really cheap.

Call the insurance dept @ Mercer ... they will get you in contact with whomever is going to do the replacement and take care of all the paperwork. And yes, it's free. :)
