Another good reason to wear a seat belt is if you get run down by a Walmart driver who was speeding through a construction zone after commuting 700 miles to work, Walmart Corporate will not pay you one thin dime for their driver's negligence because you were not wearing a seat belt.

One thing that seems to be forgotten here is, yes, your vehicle is your property, but you drive on public streets, and the fact is that driving is a privilege, not a right. Yes, I believe that there ought to be limits on exactly how much we're regulated, but a seatbelt is the most basic form of protection you have in your vehicle. If you can't do something as simple as that, then you may just simply have a problem with authority.

I am a firm believer in seat belts. With that said there are a few times i do not wear one. Off road. Driving steeper grades u might have to bail. Also don't lock the doors. I've only bailed once.
