Apparently you missed the first post where the poster said.... "I'm new to semi trucks" Not picking on you, just reposting that they dont understand tractor trailers and they are seeking wisdom.
Granted anyone whom earns a CDL at some form of schooling would get GOAL drilled into their brain.

I have had thoughts of getting one for the back of the cab to see what was happening on the catwalk or with the trailer.

I don't give a rats ### what they taught you and when they taught it at your school, he's a student and asking a simple question trying to learn. Instead of making a snide remark why not just help him.

I see your in your 1st year of driving, guess you know it all by now, huh? Why not try to help your fellow newbie out? Geez

It was a simple question of how he doesnt know that yet in school. No need to get all angry. So thank you for getting mad at me asking him a question.

Most companies have little interest in supplying the driver with anything more than work and a truck with trailer for them to achieve the work. They like to sell you the driver on the idea of leasing (sometimes with the goal to own outright) the truck you drive. Then that driver would want to do upgrades on their own. Yet once you get comfortable with driving, the camera would become moot.

The point of getting out to look is so you may see other things that a camera may not see. I have heard of bums trying to hitch a ride there. Not sure how succesful they would be (mind you it was only a story I heard). Some of the newer trucks to make them more streamlined, instead of having mirrors are supposed to have rear facing cameras on the sides. The TV show "Trick my Truck" on CMT did a custom truck with rear facing cameras. It was very interesting, yet some how I see it more of a distraction to the job.

Ok, maybe I misunderstood the tone of your comment, if I did I appologize.

There are a lot of people on here that would rather ridicule someone than offer help. We were all rookies at one time and need to help each other out rather than making fun of them. Keep something in mind though, not all schools are good!

    Be safe driver
