This system can store upto 180 hours of footage before it begins to rewrite/overwrite itself. When you park at any yard they will not even need to worry about data transfer costs because they can walk right out and plug into it.

OK they *used* to have 20 minute lag time when they were strictly satellite based communications. Now they have wifi and cellular capabilities. With cell they can know your location and comms in real time. You know when you dial 911 they know exactly where you are in real time.

Also who is to say the 2 minute limit will be permanent? Casinos record 24/7, banks and many other places as well. If some authority knows the time of the incident 20 minutes delay notwithstanding, the event was recorded nonetheless and can be viewed.

My theory is you are a paid mind control advocate for driver facing cams or simply a troll.

Drivers should be mandated to wear a camera , like some police depts do.

That way all contact with the public could be documented .......

If your doing your job and your a decent driver it should be no big deal, they dont record interior when brakes are set. If you otherwise like your job, unless your a agresive tailgating driver , who cares. What they watch for are events tagged by the camera, hard braking, taking turns to fast, quick steering movements..

Its a memory chip, they just change it. All depends on the setup, some use cellular to down load events, they dont down load the 168 hours of video. Companies would have to have a person in safety for every two drivers.

Ours are cellular and they lag by about 20 minutes on average. No where close to real time.

i would just cover the lens with tape and turn the radio up loud as i could tolerate it or put an electronic device that would interfere with the microphone really close to it

They have other programs in the system that they can access to get real time location of any truck they have running for them. It is the dispatch part of the system that may have up to a 20 or 30 minute delay telling them where you are.

They have the same capability to find a trailer as well, as long as the battery running the gps on the trailer is charged. They already have the ability to download video from the cameras in the newer trailers. Look at the top of your trailer, driver side...there is a small solar panel that powers the gps and the interior cams. Look in the trailer at the top of the bulkhead, there are several lenses focused on different places in the trailer. They are used mostly to see what might have caused interior trailer damage, or theft from a loaded trailer.
