will be glad to, unless I give up on driving entirely...but finding an acceptable non-trucking job is an extremely remote possibility.
Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

The exception could be for someone they were wanting to get rid of anyways.LilRobWayne Thanks this. -
On my 3rd regen attempt, this time the exhaust temp light came on during it, and the DPF light stopped blinking (the 1st 2 times no exhaust temp light and DPF light blinked the whole time), plus the regen lasted twice as long as either of the 1st 2. Once done, the DPF light shut off, and all is back to normal. In the 3 or 4 years I've driven a DPF equipped truck, this is the 1st time I have ever had to do a parked regen...ever -
getting on at Poly. -
early in the morning
to get a little heat going
and it immediately goes into Regen. -
its pretty simple, poly backhaul calls and gives u broker number and where u will pickup an del, u call broker an they give u the rest, sometimes poly will just have the broker call u.
also when coming off hometime u will get the same loads sometimes so if u have a backhaul thats not the best near home it could get old. ive been lucky with where i load coming from home, usually i pull in, the guy comes out and tells me the dock, i back in and 15 min later he comes out with paperwork and off i go 1600 miles and can del as fast as i can get there.
as far as breakdowns ive been here about a yr and have had 2, one was egr cooler which was no surprise and the other is a long story but somthin that i learned how to avoid next time. ive been in one loaner trk and that was only cuz my load was goin home.
i think the best thing to do is just get a room when service is due depending on how busy they are an what day it is. i try to stay away from loaners an stick with my truck if i can. i figure the xtra for gettin hub miles usually pays for rooms. sometimes they get the service done by that night and im outta there.
i will say im scared to get a new trk if they offer cuz mine had good overall, its an older one, 2010 with 400k, the oldest trks we have now are 2010's with about 500k on them. just my 2 cents, good luck whatever u doMev and LilRobWayne Thank this. -
hey SS, Ruan has an acct hauling animal feed in lake city, i ran up north for them for 6 yrs, they paid for everything, breakdowns, etc. we even got paid for waiting to unload even if u got ther early u could go to bed an get paid, i dont kno much about lake city other than they are only hiring part time at the moment, they dont hire all the time on good accts which is always good. may b worth checkin into or maybe u already have but thought id throw it out there since i think its close to u.
