I'm filling out some job applications now and getting some questions I'm not sure about.
Can anyone tell me where to find the "TWIC Number" on the twic card? Is it the long number with dashes xxx-xxxx-xxxxxxx, or one of the others?
Also, how do you know when your HAZMAT expires? I went into the office to start the TSA process on 11-3-2014, I got a status update on 11-5-2014 saying determination was made, I got a letter dated 11-6-2014 saying I met the requirements. There is nothing on my CDL hard copy or the TSA letter indicating an expiration date for the HAZMAT. I cannot find a straight forward answer searching TSA website for either of my questions.
Wheres the TWIC number located, and when does HAZMAT expire?

The back of my Texas CDL has: HME Expiration date xx-xx-xxxx
I don't have my TWIC card with me at the moment so I can't help you with that one. -
On the back, under the bar code is a set of numbers, that's the TWIC card number.

Your Hazmat expires when your license expires, you renew both at the same time.

My Wisconsin CDL. When my hazmat expired because I did not renew. The DMV sent me a knew card without the HM endorsement. The HM endorsement was good for 2 years my license was good for 4.
When you get your TWIC they give you a security phrase or code. I forgot what mine is. Some facilities are asking for that in addition to your TWIC. -
The only dates on my CDL back is the birthdate and a revision date. Neither anywhere near the list of endorsements
Mine has two sets of 8 digits. They are spaced about 1 1/4" apart and the sets of numbers are different. Is it all 16 of them then?
I thought you had to renew or take the test every two years? That's was one of the questions on the DMV test
Do you get a letter or something that tells you your hazmat is expiring the way you get drivers license letters? -
The hazmat endorsement will expire when your CDL does however we have to 'certify' with the carrier every two years in order to continue to haul hazmat. Certify is just a little quiz the carrier has the driver complete then is placed in a file
tscottme Thanks this. -
i'd like to know how you got your letter in 3 days?????
mine took 4 weeks on the tsa websight. still haven't seen my letter.
utah disqualified my license, i had to pay all the fees and decide with or without hazmat. if i wanted my haz. i couldn't get my license reinstated till tsa approval. -
The letter was dated the 6th but I didn't receive it until like 13-14th of the month. The website status update though changed over on the 5th. It said eligibility determined, but gave no other information. After getting letter, I called DMV to get my CDL released and was told it was shipping out on Friday. I received it in the mail the same day I called them about it. I was quite surprised that the entire process moved as quickly and smoothly as it did. Overall it was fast and easy to take care.
I never received a letter for the TWIC. I did get an email, but the TSA website still shows "processing" even though I picked the card up today. One complaint I do have is I had to drive 2.5 hours each way to pick up the twic, mailing wasn't an option. At least it was a drive down the coast on a beautiful day though. -
