    I think the safety meetings might have something to do with us being a manufacturing facility and we are just a branch of that. I got my home time run. Leaving Saturday and delivers in Lakeland on Tuesday. Does anyone know how firm the appointments are at Bundle in Dallas? Picked up at Super bag in Houston and I have a 11 am delivery. Gotta make that 3:30 paperwork cut off tomorrow.

    • Annual inquiry and review of driving record;
    • Annual driver’s certification of violations and annual review;
    I stand partially corrected... the company is required to do a yearly review, and the driver is to sign the review. Nothing in there about a safety meeting.

    Speaking of which...I never had to sign my annual review like at Crete...it's been more than a year.

    I finish up Orientation tomorrow, I have a load going to Lakeland, Fl delivering at 730 am Monday. They want us to go ahead and take a 34 at the house after unloading so If backhaul can find me a load Wednesday ill go ahead and take it but looks like I may get stuck at the house for Thanksgiving which I cant complain about either. So far so good. No surprises at Orientation seems like everything has gone the way people on here have said it would or how other poly drivers I spoke to said it would.

    My first year at Poly I did not make any of the meetings because I was out on the road delivering freight. No-one ever mentioned points. In fact,I was told that if a driver did not attend due to delivering freight no points would be issued.

    The only reason I made a safety meeting was because I happened to be in GP at the time of a meeting. I would never wait for two days just to attend. And if a driver chooses to do so, just ask for local work. Even if there are no loads to deliver the driver supervisors will find something for you to do.

    keep in mind that alot of backhauls going back to tx cant deliver on the wknd, so if ur home till thur sometimes u might as well stay home till fri,u might not b able to deliver till mon anyway.
    unless u can get a 900. when i leave home its a 3 day run so if i dont leave by tues or wed i stay home till fri since most of the time i cant deliver on the wknd, just somthing to keep in mind when coming off of hometime.

    Got my two drops in NC knocked out by early afternoon and then rolled up to Chesapeake, VA to pick up my back haul. Heading back to Houston for an early Sunday delivery and then hopefully a transfer to PW for Thanksgiving. Another solid month in the books. If I can hit 12K in December I should equal my miles from last year with about 30 extra days at home compared to 2013.

    The ripple was more about points for not getting miles .
    I was sitting in the lounge the other week and that topic was
    being bounced about in a conversation across from me.
    Im beginning to think the break room is not the most
    peaceful place to dwell at Poly while waiting for freight.
    That or maybe I am just overly sensitive to negativity.
    Who,knows.

    Nothing personal but from following the thread I suggest you go with the "I am just overly sensitive to negativity"

    I have a driver doing the same stuff and it gets annoying fast with his assumption of PENDING DOOM AND GLOOM around every turn
