count me out, those cameras are so big and block so much sun, plus my opportunity of slamming the brakes on, every morning in the truckstop, while calmly telling a ###### joke, that someone has to review.

and the people reviewing it, in that part of the world,is where that group of people are plentiful?

I find it hilarious that these Co's wanting to put these cameras in the trucks as a way to monitor the driver...it's like they don't trust tge c driver, well they need to look in the mirror because the drivers are being hired by them. ..i think they need to look at their hiring practice. .

Next to none. The current raises and other crap I think are a move to cloud the camera thing.

The best petition you can sign is the one 48 packard just signed. (I quit)

Never forget this is trucking, and there are 20 idiots waiting to take your place. They may not be able to get out of a parking lot without a GPS or hitting something, but they can take your place. They will work cheaper, stay out longer, and think they have a wonderful profession if Crete gives them a free ballcap, and sells them some overpriced shirts and fingerless gloves at the company store.

We have many discounts, but we are sworn to secrecy about them.

If I tell you about them they may take away the new mercedes i just got at half price. Oh wait.....######!

I've yet to see a discount from a trucking company that was anything to get excited about. Crete gets one from Whirlpool and Dell, but you can usually find the same stuff as cheap or cheaper online.

The cameras aren't the end of the world. I actually don't mind as long as their statement that they don't watch 24/7, only when something (namely accelerometers telling them you braked hard or took a turn too fast) is true. I'm confident in my driving abilities and I haven't had any complaints from safety since I've had one in my truck (I got the truck 5 months ago). In fact it covered my ### just the other day.

A couple of days ago I was driving from Freightliner in Fontana CA to the drop yard 4 miles down the road. It rained for 2 days straight in SoCal and there's nowhere for the rainwater to go but stay on the road. In that 4 miles my truck triggered 3 "hard braking" (read: wheel slip) critical events from me slowing from a safe speed to a complete stop at traffic lights. It's raining, I'm running bobtail and yes, every bump in the road you hit while braking will cause you to get at least a small amount of wheel slip, boom CER triggered. I called safety this morning and they told me they had already checked the trucks movement records against the video from my camera and determined that I wasn't driving in an unsafe manner, no dings against my safety score. They also pointed out that it was a good thing the camera was there and working because 3 CERs in one day let alone 3 in 15 minutes is usally a very bad thing.

I guess my point is they put these things in our trucks for a reason and as long as you're not driving like an idiot it's more likely to help than hurt you. Just my $.02

Has anyone seen the new pet policy?

    Main points I saw:
*Written copy of Pet Authorization in truck.
*$750 pet deposit, $50 paid on signing the policy form, then $25 per week deducted from pay until the amount is complete.
*Pay reduction of $0.005 cpm for solo; but only $0.0025 for teams ($0.00125 each).
*One pet only, 60 lbs. or less.
*Must be cat or dog, unless authorized in writing by N. Cole, C. Shipley or JR Zeigler.
*Pet can NEVER be let out on a customers, shipper or consignee property.

Those are the basics that are listed...along with leashing, using kennels and pet being non-aggressive. The policy is 2 pages long and goes into alot of other costs and rules that would take forever to copy here.
